GG will still play Widedog 18 mins a night while Bartkowski sits in the press box with Jokipakka and Freddie Hamilton. |

Totally agree on Dougie with PP1...that being said, he makes the second unit a lot more dangerous.
I would like to see them tee him up more. |

Is the Bart man playing tomorrow? Are they gonna pair his poor ass with Widedog? |

For anyone that goes to the game at the dome, are there quite a few empty seats each night? |

Why is it a certain that Ferland will be exposed? Who are you considering the 7th forward to protect?
1) Gaudreau
2) Monahan
3) Backlund
4) Frolik
5) Brouwer
6) Bennett
7) ???
Not necessarily saying that they should but they could protect Ferland and leave guys like Bouma or Stajan unprotected. |

Except that last game he was demoted to the 3rd pair and played 12 minutes... |

I like the PP when Hamilton is out there with Tkachuk. They seem to have good chem together. Tkachuk stands in front of the net and Dougie fires the pucks at the net. They got a special connection |

Ferland is who I'd have as my 7th on my list. At the start of the year we were worried that a guy like Shinkaruk might break out and take Ferland's spot, but I really don't see anyone else worth protecting over Ferland. |

I agree. The change I'd make is maybe putting Gio out there instead of Brodie on PP1 just so we can have more of a threat for a shot from the point out there.
I think the mentality on the PP is this:
PP1: Use Versteeg and Johnny to cycle the puck around and hopefully get it to Monahan in the slot or throw it towards the net and go for the rebound. The dman is there as more of a secondary option.
PP2: Use the dman to cycle back and forth- the 3M line to work the puck down low and try to get a shot from the point. Seems like the d take a lot more shots on this unit- which is why it's good to have Hamilton on it because he seems to get the most shots through of all our defensemen.
This is such a small complaint though... our pp is still operating well and it might be best to just not (frank) with a good thing.

I totally agree to keeping Ferland, but if he's so valuable why is he being played on the 4th line? |

I would expose bouma, ferland has slightly more skill size and grit. Plus he is native so he is a little crazy in him |

I don't think that Vagas would pick ferland just becomes of his past substance abuse problem. that he has struggled with. And bringing a guy like that to sin city would be a whole lot of temptation. |

I think Ferland has put that part of his life behind him; hes a strong guy and has a family of his own now. But I would like to see us keep him |

I think Vegas ends up signing Engelland. He is pretty much the only Vegas hockey guy that I know off. The fact that he can punch people will make him a fan favorite as well. If they have fans that is. |

Agreed. He's done a lot for us, but I'm getting pretty damn tired of him throwing away possession whenever he can. All he has done lately (during play) is throw the puck up the ice.
We need our core to start sticking up for our top players. There's a major flaw in having Engelland do it: we have to have him out there with the talent.
No Wideman/Engelland next year. The sky is the limit. |

yikes...
the goalie stats aren't looking so hot
but Janko...leading scorer by a fair margin...grown into his 6'4" frame, 205 lbs!
Too bad on Porier, that guy seems to have given up...Klimchuck is now the 2nd leading scorer on the team |

I actually think he is just better suited playing with guys like Stajan and Bouma/Hathaway. They all play that simple crash the net style of game that he loves.
Some guys just can't play with highly skilled players (look at all the problems Canada has had finding people to play with Crosby).
Also, one thing that makes him more valuable is that we will not have to use a spot on guys like Versteeg and Tkachuk who are already in the top 9. |

Hah Also Huska likely is happy about this news. See: 1-1-9 in the last 11 games. |
