Sucks for AV .. Good guy but bad decision .. League has to drop hammer 10 +
It happens - ducks were getting hosed all night by refs ... & frustration boiled over ...
Now Ducks need to find another gear to replace him... Overshadows insane performance from JG ...

Gibson had a heck of a game. He deserved the spotlight.

10 games for Vermette is fine. But it looks like a three-game suspension to me based on his swat being closer to what Anthony DeAngelo did than what Dennis Wideman did. But if Wideman got 10 for absolutely destroying the linesman, it seems like that's the max Vermette could get for tapping the linesman. Either way, everyone knows you can't touch an official.

Now, that officiating crew should be suspended 5 games each. The linesmen were acting like there was glue on their hands all night. And a 5 to 0 power play count is pretty unbelievable. I mean, it's not like the Ducks shouldn't be used to this crap by now. But come on, there were at least three blatant penalties any reasonable referee who knew the disparity in penalties would have called. And don't give me that crap about how referees don't pay attention to how many have been called that night. They do, and it informs their decisions on calls going forward.

That's funny. Bob Murray faces the tough questions about as often as Hillary Clinton

Agree with everyone, even though it wasn't vicious or with an intent to injure, he's still gotta go. I think they should split the difference between 3 and 10, say 6 games. The same as Nyquist got for an infinitely more violent act.
Now, as for the Ducks missing Vermette, I could see a little bit of a drop off, such as winning a face-off in the defensive zone. Other than that, what exactly has he contributed lately? Other than falling down so often he's starting to make Perry look like a good skater, I haven't seen much. Getzlaf, Kesler, Rakell, and Thompson will be the centers and we'll get to see what Corey Tropp can do in the NHL.
Speaking of Tropp, how about the Gulls?!?!?!!4-1-1 in their last 16 games and Jonas Enroth is on FIRE! Makes me think Murray could throw in Bernier to teams who need a back-up, although the cap hit would be tough to move. Just spitballin' here. Go Gulls! Going to the Roadrunners game Saturday.

Been to half dozen or so Gulls game this yr- what an atmosphere - being serious here w the crappy support Ducks get in Ana. They should really look into moving to SD - the support would be crazy from what I've seen and talking to my buddies ...

Build an NHL arena and then lets talk. Still don't see it happening but you never know.

Yeah that goes w/o saying but w/ nfl gone - no nba - padres blow - the town is wide open for a winner and a killer arena downtown would be insane - the support from what I see and hear would be outstanding - and let's be real SD is a kick ass town -

We'll be without a center for a while. Could we please see what Kevin Roy would look like in a Ducks jersey? I swear, he's the best skater on the ice in San Diego.

Oh, and yes please to a San Diego NHL team. The fans down here have been decent. And I'm tired of having to decide whether to use my Ducks season tickets or my Gulls season tickets when both have home games.
