This has to be strange for all parties, no? Even for Canadiens players now being coached by their once rival coach? And apparently no one is allowed to speak to each other during the bye week, that first day back will be interesting. Julien drops a marchand and adds a shaw and gallagher haha

What's this?
Havn't heard that... are you saying management can't speak to players per the NHL, or are you saying the Habs put a muzzle on players getting together?

Just adds a really interesting dynamic to this rivalry in my opinion. Sad he chose the Habs, but at the same time you hate to tell a team they cant speak to your former coach just because they are your rivals. Timing is interesting to say the least, but classy move by B's management allowing Claude to pursue any and all opportunities out there.

From a money standpoint, the sooner you are off the hook for any kind of salary the better right? Thats a few million back in the walking scrotem's (Jacobs) pocket.

during each teams "week off" coaches arent allowed to talk to players, Bruins are going through it right now too. New coach, ... cant talk to players. Stupid.

cheap ass jacobs would rather make the Habs better than have to pay a coach he fired.

No he'd rather be able to talk to coaches he might want in the future that get fired by other teams. Funny how when you act like a douche you get it returned. Boston lets Montreal talk and hire Julien so that when they want someone later (not right now even with an interim coach) it doesn't come back and bite them in the ass.

I'd bet the Bruins said you can't talk to Claude until after Sunday night if they asked shortly after he was fired.

Ahh... I see so this is imposed at a league level .
Had not heard that.
To be fair there is a system in place that they will likely go with in their first game back... unless Julien can change things up in the day or two prior to the Saturday game.

Makes the "rivalry" interesting at least while both teams are mediocre in a really poopty division.

Catch 22 for me. I honestly don't want the Bruins in the playoffs this year. 3 years missing the postseason will hopefully mean Jacobs and his insatiable greed will fire Neely and the entire front office except the scouts (they're doing a good job so far).

On the other hand a Bruins v Habs series would now be very interesting.

He brought stability to Bruins which was something they lacked for a long long time. Coached them to a cup and close to another. I will always be grateful to him for that.

I feel like both teams are in a similar sinking ship situation though. Bergevin and Sweeney are equally incompetent.

Gut the front office, sell the team to an owner who actually gives a poop about the franchise an doesn't resemble a low hanging ball sack
