Bob Duff: When all is even, AA scores all A's Detroit forward Andreas Athanasiou has scored as many even-strength goals as Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and John Tavares in much less ice time.

Man it's frustrating seeing Blashill make a point of calling him out even when he does positive things.

Hold the Tatar.

Hold the Nyquist.

We'd like to take AA off your hands

Blashill is doing exactly what Holland tells him to do. He's a good little puppet.

I'm sorry but young players don't just "mature" because they can put up points every now and then. I'm glad that AA is being held accountable. I've noticed that he's been moving his feet (and not reaching with his stick) and making things happen in all 3 zones far more than the first 20-or-so games he played in. It's led to more TOI, PK time, and now some PP time.

Blashill isn't a great coach, but, I think he's teaching AA correctly.

If only Tatar and Nyquist would follow suit (Gus has also been better lately). Tatar stops moving his feet far too often and just dumps it in or gives it away. It's the 3-way combo of smarts, quick hands, and quick feet, that make him dangerous on the ice. Use all 3, kid.

I can't put all the blame on Tatar himself, though, when Sheahan is one of his line-mates (and the other is a currently lackluster Larkin).
