Ottawa has 24 losses, and Montreal has 25, so if Ottawa wins all their games in hand then they would be ahead. Having said this, Montreal has struggled while Ottawa has surged, to get to this point. It wont last another 30 games, so Montreal wins the division easily.

No one else on the division has a winning record. Leafs could make the playoffs because of how bad the rest of division is, but they are not in the equation to win the division. Leafs first goal should be to get to 0.500 (wins vs losses).

I doubt the Leafs make the playoffs. Montreal, Ottawa, Florida will most likely be the top 3. With one of the Metro and either Philly, NYI or Tampa filling out the rest

Toronto probably goes 16-15 the rest of the way.
If so Florida will have to go 20-11 to catch them. I think this is a pretty tall order.

More likely that Boston stops their slump, closes out 17-11, and finishes third.
I'm guessing NYI beat out Toronto and Philly for the 2nd wild card. They'd need to go 18-14 or so. Philly would have to go 18-11 to keep pace.

I predict Toronto makes the playoffs this year. Not only that, I predict a Toronto-Montreal first round match-up!

So two ways that happens.
1) Toronto finishes 3rd, Ottawa beats out Montreal for first.
2) Montreal finishes first, Toronto somehow catches NYR for the second wildcard. (10 points behind with 30 games remaining).

So it's pretty much option #1.
I think your basically saying you expect Montreal to suck the rest of the way, while Toronto does exceptionally well. That must be hard to admit as a habs fan.
lmao.
