I don't see them tinkering with the lineup right now. Maybe if they drop a few in a row they would consider a change. Plus who knows when Hammer will be back.

I agree they are not going with Pulock right now. Pulock might have to wait until next season and maybe Toews beats him out next year? Hammer coming back is not going to help the PP though.

hamonic i'm sorry to say will be traded. love the guy love the way he plays. if he can be part of a package to bring in a high level wing he is gone. we have plenty of D prospects to fill the void. hickey or dehaan will be taken in the expansion draft meaning there will be at least 2 openings on D next yr.

JB can't even help the PP since he's not even used except sparingly.

Jb can't skate pass or shoot like pulock. Well he can shoot but pulock has way more natural offensive ability

Hamonic/Dehaan/Hickey/Seidenberg need to be traded so team makes room for Pulock/Pelech on a full time basis for next year.
Team can find 5/6 type of dmen in FA

Next years D;

Leddy/Boychuk/Pulock/Pelech/Mayfield & 2 FA's to fill out w/Teows as the call-up

Per 2 NHL sources, Claude Julien already received two job offers. Cannot say the teams sorry. I will say, I can't see him going to Vegas.

Wow so basically 4 rookies on d? Uh nope I can see leddy boychuk pelach pulock and either hickey/Dehaan and a free agent maybe seidenberg again as he's played well. Hamonic gone in trade for a winger and hickey/dehaan in expansion draft. You CANNOT have that many rookies on d. Look at Edmonton the last few years and Toronto this year, while not all rookies it doesn't matter how much you score if you can't play in your own zone.

I like Pelech and have hopes he will continue to develop and improve. But am I the only one who has noticed that there are times when he looks a little lost on D? Most of the time he's fine, but every now and then he looks confused as to whom he's supposed to be covering...

Leddy & Boychuk are not rookies and 2 FA's are not rookies,

I don't disagree about either one of those players deserving spots. But going into a season with a roster consisting of 3 defenseman with a combined 66gp of NHL experience is a recipe for disaster.

Not to mention the fact that this team doesn't have the cap space to just go out and sign two FA's, assuming there are even 2 defensemen out there worth signing. Maybe we could bring Strait back though, he'd be cheap.

the more NHL experience he gets, the more the kid gets comfortable...
I believe Dehaan is RFA, is he worth $4-5m per?? Not to me....
Roster is cluttered with bad contract.

Anything is possible in FA, did anyone expect isles to sign Seidenberg? things can happen or even a trade...

It's called being a rookie, it's used as a baseline but 300 games is what your average NHL defenseman needs to really figure it out

I wouldn't be comfortable going into the season with Pulock, Pelech, AND Mayfield all as regular defensemen. I don't even think Mayfield is going to be a regular NHL'er for his entire career, be it here or elsewhere.

Also, where did de Haan and Hickey go? I imagine we are assuming one was claimed by LV. Did the other get traded for Duchene?

I don't disagree. Ideally, your rookie d-men are playing 3rd pairing minutes. Pelech however has been playing as high as the 1st pair, and more recently has been on the 2nd pair.
