21peter, saw the below in the prior blog comments, will incorporate in a future blog:

A couple suggestions for future blogs, Jan;
- Why we can't trade JT in a RHD trade (imo he could be the most important Ranger the next decade and possibly a future Captain...)
- Why we can't lose Grabs to Vegas (speed kills) and how to avoid it.

Big win, GirRdi really took a few for the team as his Broadway Hat pic showed last night. Great game from him, Hank & Grabs with 2 more goals, amazing story, he just keeps scoring.

crazy game, obviously outplayed overall, but they also could have won it 7-1 at the same time

if memory serves, they beat the Ducks 7-2 a couple of years ago in similar fashion

Yea, think it was 7-2. Hayes had chances galore. Great to see him engaged so much first game back.

Gonna be a big raise with JT's next contract...that could be the only thing standing in the way with Mika due a big raise to

I think there were two separate portions where the ducks really pinned them in.. but look at the quality of chances nyr had vs what they had

the shot totals are misleading, lot of those ducks shots had no chance

If that 4th line can keep jelling it might not be so bad having Buch down there

In order to save Grabner, someone will have to get bought out to spare their protected slot. Perhaps one of those with a NMC will waive it for the good of the team or allow a trade elsewhere in the off-season. Because of this problem, I doubt the Rangers make any trade other than for a UFA at the season's end (rentals).

Yeah, I know you were against it, but he had success down there earlier in the season. Obviously he shouldn't stay down there but for now I like the balance.

I like the fact that Vesey got going with the line shake up. Buch I feel has more ability to play up and down the lineup. Veseys numbers playing away from Nash and Step drop a good amount

Yup, was going to say the same thing. Buch seems to play well with anyone. Vesey just clicks with Nash.

...or Staal. Nash would be very tradeable with only one year remaining on his deal; and he's playing like his old self lately and that would make it more attractive to a buyer to get a (possible) 2nd round pick + prospect you would not have to protect.

The d protected doesnt affect the fwds protected unless they do the 8 skater option instead of 7 fwds 3 d

no chance they do the 8 skater option

JT Miller comes due for next contract when Nash expires. I think it is obvious that the Rangers are going to prioritize the younger players, so I don't think they'll be any significant impediments to getting JT signed. Either Nash comes back on a reasonable deal, or they'll let him walk or trade him at some point.
