I would think if Ray were considering moving PAP, he might want him off the 4th line.
Not that I don't like the lineup.... just don't think it makes PAP look like a feature player. We killed it in value for Stempniak in part because he was getting such top quality minutes....

In other news, I read Elias has to sign by March 1st to play this season and he's leaning toward retirement. Sad news. I remember when he was a rookie....

Lately I've been wondering what does Mozik have to do to get a shot with the big club? Not sure how much more he can do in Albany.

I agree playing him on the 4th line is killing his value but I think hynes doesn't really care about what we can get in return for him he's more concerned about winning some hockey games. To be honest it's going to be tough to move him at the deadline regardless with the expansion draft coming up there will be a ton of teams looking to move players market will be flooded driving the price down

March 20, 2015. I spent $5 on stub hub to watch the Sabres play the Devils in final stretches of the McEichel tank year. It was the worst hockey game i have ever seen. No real point to this post

You mean the year your fans were cheering when the opposing teams scored goals? And your whole fan base thought they were going to draft mcdavid? Yeah that was a discraful year for your franchise

Blah, blah, blah. It was worth it. Arizona tanked that year as well. The game you're referencing against Arizona basically decided who would finish last. If we had won (lost?) that game, we would have drafted Dylan Strome. So i say again, worth it.

We love our hockey in Buffalo, and the team was garbage, so the fans had fun with it the best way we could. No shame in that. Fans still showed up during the darkest period in franchise history. I'm pretty proud of that

Just because you have made peace with being complete integrity free whores doesn't actually make it something you should be proud of... but obviously you just dont know better. You're proud the fans in Buffalo still showed up as opposed to doing what in Buffalo? What a poophole.

Disgusting how you can be proud of your team tanking personally feel like teams should be penalized for it the leafs did it last season and should have been penalized the team they were icing at the end of the season was a (frank)ing joke and so is any franchise that loses on purpose

This franchise has been pathetic the last 10 years and those tanking years really made it exciting as a fan to actually root for something. I remember watching the Chicago-Sabres game at a bar one night when we were up by 1 with a couple minutes left in the game and Toews scores the euqalizer and then the go ahead goal in regulation to steal 2 points from the Sabres. Those of us diehard Sabre fans were cheering and high-fiving that loss as if it was a playoff win.

Say what you will but last place meant either McDavid or Eichel. I have to assume any team's fans would clearly see that 1, 2, or even 10 more wins that season would have meant absolutely nothing except losing out on one of those two players. Over the years, there have been many franchises that have done the exact same thing. Mediocrity year in year out does nothing to improve your team. Ask the Bills

You act like Buffalo invented this technique. How do you think Chicago and Pittsburgh got good players? And yeah, it's pretty remarkable to have the kind of attendance we had during those bad years. Good attendance isn't something New Jersey has, despite its cup history, so i can see why you would choose to avoid that.

As for your commentary on Buffalo, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, although it's an old, outdated view.

Never forget Cam Atkinson. Finding the good in that season was all we had, and it was perversely fun. I certainly have no shame for finding the positives in that season, and all-in-all, definitely worth it

New Jersey fans, probably the most pathetic line-up in the entire league, going at Sabres fans.

I would seriously take Colorado's roster over New Jersey any day. Look at those lines for tonight. Yikes indeed.

I didn't say Buffalo invented dink. Probably the last thing invented near Buffalo was Jello in LeRoy... But regardless of who invented tanking it's a fairly integrity free act.

I hope you enjoy your good attendance as much as we've enjoyed our Stanley Cups. While ticket sales could be better we are the third team in a shared market.

Congratulations! You should be really proud. Maybe you could take a page out of the Canucks playbook and put one of those "7th man" banners up in the rafters. After all, you should have plenty of room up there...

Which proves my point. Sabres fans actually care about hockey, as opposed to Devils fans who show up when their team is good. As for as the Others, your team was mired in a burning tar pit until you lucked into McDavid. Congratulations, you failed your way into success in a way unseen in NHL history, and likely never to be duplicated

A bit off base, sir.

First, we don't really show up more when the team is good. Well, maybe a little...

Secondly, what is this success you say Buffalo has had? Like actual success in hockey or just pulling off one of the most blatant tank jobs of all time?

Little of column A, little of column B. Enjoy your tank-free, mediocre lineup for the next ten years.
