Mid season slump.
We always have to go through a slump at some point in the year.
We will be fine.
But malkin has been absolutely atrocious lately. Time for malkin trade rumors. |

Call him up.
Jake pretzel- Crosby-horn
Kunitz-malkin-kessel
sheary-bonino-rust
the fourth line.
I believe Hags could get the most out of a trade. We need another top notch d man. I think the pens can afford to send hags and daley out if a true top four d man is coming back. |

The Penguins always seem to suck during a Steelers playoff run. Hopefully that playoff run continues after tonight, with the wussy snow-fearing Chiefs folding under the weight of the Steelers' offense.
Here we go. |

I know we get slumps but that game last night was a giant turd. The D needs to look at stabilizing the lines. It might be better to call up a D pair from Wilkes Barre that have played together for a while. Otherwise it just tends to create confusion. Who is DP currently paired with, does anyone know? |

Lots of hockey left, but this little setback with our D & the results showing some weaknesses (be that as a slump or legitimate need for another Dman not named Pouliot), going to be very interesting how JR handles it. All depends I suppose where the organisation is comfortable in finishing - top 3 or WC??
Only takes a few wins & everybody has Boners about the team again!! (see see see??? ) |

I'm disappointed in the forwards more than the D. They're not helping the defense at all. They've been much slower in puck pursuit and the backchecking has been weak at best. Even with Letang and Dumo, our defense needs the forwards to be more responsible. Too many "hope" passes from everyone.
It's just a slump. That break really f'd them up IMO. They'll get it back soon enough. |

We play a system that needs skilled plays from the D or it looks bad. At the moment we don't have the personnel at D to really play our game. The forward lines that Sully is using aren't helping things though. Call up Guentzel (i.e. the AHL leader in goals with games in hand), get Kessel back into the top 6 and get Sid and Geno going if nothing else. |

I really think Schultz want to be a Penquin and he was one of the key players in December and continues to impress. Getting him inked should be a priority. The Pens are screwing up the lines just like the Flyers are doing, what is with these coaches?

Quote not working, but was in reply to Grinder47 on Guentz playing with sid and horny
I said this on an earlier thread, as I am in agreement, I am almost at the point of now trying to find a place for Sundqvist as well. Tell me a good reason why not? The organization told him to work on his offense this season, he did and he is producing. Like last year, maybe this team needs a jolt from the youngsters down on the farm . . .
Not sure if the contracts of Wilson and Kuhnhackl are 2-way but I would do a 2 for 2 swap to try and re-invigorate this lineup before drastic trades are made. I like what Hags brings to this team. |

Maybe Crosby has H1N1, maybe SARS, possibly yellow fever. Could also have a slight case of trench foot and a hairline neck fracture.
That, or he just isn't quite Mario Lemieux. |
