I could see Jaskin in for Yakupov following the loss seems like Hitch likes this time to rotate in players. Bortz is back?? Good

So which Blues team shows up tonight.......you would have to think Allen feels the weight of the city on his shoulders tonight.

Just an FYI:

This isn't just a goalie problem. They are part of the problem, but the team in front of them are playing terrible.

The teams sucks! Done! Can't believe they have gone in the crapper so fast.
When OR IF they decide to actually want to play I will watch and support them again.

It embarrassing ... maybe I should root for the Leafs!

Hitch has lost this team. If they don't do something...ANYTHING...real soon they will be out of a playoff spot. I swear if I hear Army say anything about team Canada I will flip my sh#t

each can cause the other....so for the blues which is the primary cause?

Also the timing of the goals matters. more on all this later.

I made that same comment to JR but it still wasn't an unstoppable shot. The two goals given up by Hutton were harder save chances imho.

on Allen's 3rd goal he ducked down and had no idea where the shot was. He just isn't tracking the puck well. I wish they would have him work with whoever Dubnyk worked with on puck tracking. From what am I noticing, it seems like a lot of his issues relate to puck tracking.

Yeah, not saying it was unstoppable.

But people act like every goal Allen gives up is a weak goal. He is fighting it right now, and it complicates things when he is screened and when pucks are changing directions, even slightly.

99% off Blues fans have seemingly given up on Allen. I think that's sad, especially with the way the team is playing in front of him.

IMO Allen is not the problem

He is not playing well right now but outside of Tarasenko who is?

This team is going through the motions and I feel it has to land at the feet of three men and ultimately 1

Having a coach in waiting is a mistake, are the guys listening to Hitch or Yeo?

Doug Armstrong is at fault here and ultimately he might lose his job because he has really not done a great job with asset management over the last couple of years. Outside of Tage Thompson and IVan Barbashev what forward prospects do the blues have?

This team is a mess right now

Prematurely bringing in Yeo undermined Hitch's authority, as did forced change from Hitch's heavy/grinding/dirty style that was the Blues' identity (as best expressed by Backes and Brouwer.) Plus decisions on Allen and Shattenkirk. All bad.

No decision has been made on Shattenkirk yet should they have taken the rumored Drouin for Shattenkirk deal? Probably

Allen can turn it around but the TEAM needs to start playing better and the goalie will come along with them

I have never see na blues team give up so many shots. The shot suppressin on this team is abysmal

I know that's the narrative a lot of folks jump on but has there been a Blues goalie that fans criticized unfairly when it was all said and done?

(Hoping you'll say Jaro Halak)

The team as a whole is playing poorly, that's not in dispute. But Elliot was dealt to give Allen the job cut and dried and he has had a very poor half season. He doesn't appear to be injured, and he's extremely athletic, we've seen that from him in the past.

So his troubles are totally and completely resting between his ears.

If he were hot, the team in front of him would be better and more confident whereas the team could play extremely well in front of him and he would still (and does) give up bad goals.

I don't think that deal was ever offered by the Bolts...probably asked for by the Blues though.

The goalie is exacerbating the problem. Again timing matters but more on that in tomorrow's blog.
