I'd agree that long term Ghost could be the odd man out.
Myers/Sanheim/Provorov would and should provide plenty of the offense. I think Hexy would value the size of the other guys over ghost. Plus the fact is all the other players are Hexy's guys.
As far as timing goes this year isn't the right time. Sometime next year and possibly the 2018 draft feels about the right time to make a trade like that |

I had a curious question regarding the expansion draft and position designation ...
With all the talk a few days ago regarding Manning being a potentially wasted protected defenseman since he’d likely not be selected by LV, I was wondering what prevents a team from using a valuable forward they’d have to expose as a ‘temporary’ defenseman? For example, assuming Laughton stays with the Phantoms for the entire season, can they “experiment” with him for the final let’s say 10 games and arbitrarily say he’s a defenseman? I’d imagine there’s some rule, possibly games played, that prevents this since many teams have excess talent at one position vs the other.
In a more practical sense, someone like Byfuglien who has routinely shifted between forward and defense … what constitutes his expansion protected position?
Anyway on topic ... just ridiculous having Gudas as your healthy scratch tonight? |

Great Blog!
Given how pathetic the Canucks PP has looked as of late, I am going to say 3-2 Philly tonight. |

The Canucks are not a gritty team, and NEVER fight when they don't have Dorsett or Gudbranson in the line up. You would be better off getting your most defensively sound D-men playing the Canucks. |

Looking forward to all the stuff during stoppages tonight.
I mean we got plenty of people who could be the obscure playoff hero who gets honored. |

Gudas is one of more sound D men.
I'm getting tired of the rotating why the hell do we have to scratch that D man. Let's make a move and get to 7. |

Seems like either Gudas or banged up as Bill and others have mentioned. Listed as healthy, but if true, NBD |

There isn't any public rule on that from what I know, but as you hinted, I would assume it has to do with the NHL tracking games played |

I don't want to say that if we lose tonight playoffs are completely out of the picture
But it does kinda feel that way.
As long as we don't get shut out I think mentally we'll still be relatively okay |

Gudas as surprising as it may be to fans of opposing teams is one of the best dmen on the team at generating chances by getting point shots on net and being able to skate and make a transitional pass. Replacing him with Streit is a downgrade IMO.
We all know who needed to be replaced but whats the use anymore understanding the lineup decisions.

Gudas is the #2 d-man on this team after Provorov.
He was the #1 last year. |

The Flyers have the roster to surprise and compete though. Unfortunetely the Canucks do not. The majority of our wins have solely been because we have had great goaltending. We just have a far inferior roster. |

Philly games aren't often televised for us on the west coast. I watch a ton of highlights though and try and keep up with some of the philly blogs. I envy your D prospects so much.... |

We also have the roster to surprise and roll over and give away points to teams like you say Vancouver is. |

So true. How frustrating is it?
I hope that he is done after tonight, however I know thats just wishful thinking.
Maybe if we get all of the fans in Philly to start talking about how amazing Amac is we can trick a team into thinking he is actually good. |
