you only move Maatta for another young D man. pens have no depth in young d men. I wasnt a fan of the trouba for maatta deals but they did have some sense to them. Moving maatta for a forward unless another deal for a solid d man is in the works is foolish. they could try hagelin, 1st rounder, DP... but I wouldnt take that if I was sakic... adding a sprong to the deal is a lot to give up.

probably more like fleury, kunitz, pouliot and a 1st. A package with maatta is acceptable too.

I can't make sense of this one. I think the Avs are going to want a massive payment if they're going to trade Landeskog. We all know he'd be putting up much better numbers if he were with a good team.

I don't know much about the Penguins prospects, but I would think that if the Avs are going to unload guys like Landeskog and Duchsensene they will want picks and prospects more than anything. Are the Penguins in a place to sell futures for more success now?

Landeskog is a huge talent, and anytime a player of that calibre shows up, you gotta look at it seriously.

Might take Maatta, Polliot and futures to get him. Would I do it. Of course I would. Many Maatta's and Polliott's are out there, not too many Landeskog's.

If trading Flower somehow got this guy... then yes? Otherwise, too pricey for a bit of an unknown of what he could do on a good team.

If they wanted to do this, he'd almost have to replace a Hagelin or Hornqvist long-term to make the salary structure work. And maybe that's what he'd be, their younger Hörnqvist. But what they'd have to give up to get him probably wouldn't make it worth it.

That being said, if the Avs would take a deal centered on Maatta I'd do it. I'm not completely sure he's going to bounce baxk and if they can get great trade value for him I'd pull the trigger. They'd need to find another d in a separate trade, but he's been more of a 3rd pairing guy this year. That would also even out the expansion draft issues because they no longer would have to choose between Schultz, Maatta, or protecting 4 D.

I'd be shocked if the Avs would take Maatta as the center piece of a trade for thwir captain though. I don't know what we could offer to outbid every team that wouldn't weaken us too much in other areas.

We need LDs way more than LWs right now. I get the feeling RW is once again assuming Pouliot can seamlessly step into a top 4 LD role if given the chance. Love Landeskog, but no.

Yet you keep coming in butt hurt like clock work to all his Avs based blogs and swearing you'll finally turn the corner for X reason. Another half year in and you're still bottom of the barrel. You're argument that the Avs aren't poorly run becomes less and less tenable by the day.

This is the less shocking thing in the world.

Blah Blah blah, im not hear to talk about that. My team is crap, their management group is struggling but its not as bad as everyone likes to say it is, there is some good moves there. My point is Wilson throws graphs up, talks a lot of poop on twitter and acts like a hockey savant bc he uses stats to back up his claims, throwing shade at my favorite team.

He needs to remember where the Pens game from. 7 years or so of dark dark days of tanking and top picks, then drafting 2 generational talents. Lets not pretend like it was some strategic rebuild, sometimes you are bad in the years of gen talent to bring you back to the light.
