It would be nice to put the Preds further behind in the standings |

A nice thing to see is the last 4 games AA had been 50% or better at the dot, hope that trend continues. Would love that line to gain possession more times than not as soon as the puck is dropped |

Useless comment I know, but I'm totally pulling for you guys!!! |

Hi John and thank you again for all the work you do for us. One question are the Hawks at least kicking the tires on Gabriel Landeskog? |

This is a 'should' win game. Preds are shorthanded and not a great road team. Both teams thin up front with good D, but the Hawks have better goal tending typically. Home ice advantage and aren't as banged up, |

I think they could get creative. Colorado needs d-men and we have some to move. |

Yes, we've been watching it decimate a dynasty first-hand. Very well-versed in the NHL salary cap in these forums. |

No such thing in the NHL anymore, the cap makes the stronger teams weaker year after year, if the Hawks don't put forth the effort and be responsible with the puck, they will lose no matter who they play. |

I would wonder if Seabs and Pokka/Forsling could bring in Landeskog at 25-50% cap hit. |

Is Landeskog signed through 20-21? Doubt that they take 50% of a 5+mil cap hit for that long but weird things do happen.

Agree with this. The Hawks are currently in the bottom third of the league in faceoff wins at even strength -- but so are the Penguins, Blue Jackets, and Rangers for what it's worth. |

Don't think there would be any chance Colorado would do that.
I know I'm a minority here but I think Vanek would be worth a gamble. Just think he would look good with Hossa and Toews but I don't think we could even make his cap hit work |

They would want Panarin. Or... a package including one of our defensemen. If they're competing for a cup, however, they need the top 3.

I gonna take a wild stab at tonight's game flow.
Hawks get spanked first 10 minutes, totally outshot and give up the first goal or two.
They they play the Preds pretty even last half the the first and throughout the 2nd and even carry the play at times, but do a lot of possession and passing with few shots to show for it.
If still trailing in the third, and likely are by 1 or 2 goals.....they will carry the pace the remainder of the game. either losing by 1....taking it to OT, or scoring late to win.
Final score 4-3 somebody.

Interesting to see which Hawks team shows this evening...they seem to play the Preds well - division game at home...we'll see...
meanwhile the Vanek rumors have started - 10 g 15a and he's at 2,6m - surely they'll be other suitors...and the Hawks will have to overpay to get him and can they even make that work with the cap. You also had the Hawks looking at Hudler who's also making over 2m...
and Yakupov who Stan was rumored to be going after is also in the 2m range and has 3g 3a with the Blues...
Meanwhile Versteeg is making 950k and has 7g and 11 helpers for the Flames...and he's 56% at the dot. Sure defensively he's a liability at times, but you can't tell me he wouldn't have helped this team which sorely lacks offense depth. He knows the system and the room and one would think he'd love to be here.
Meanwhile CC will have to be at his absolute best this evening as usual because the high flying Hawks are scoring what a goal or two a game. I'd love to see this team make a run this spring but let's be realistic...this team lacks scoring and is hard pressed to make a move with a top heavy roster.

Versteeg would look solid on Kane's wing. Bump Panarin up with Hossa and He could certainly take too toos roster spot and cap hit |
