I'll respectfully disagree re: Moore. His few successful rushes up ice don't make up for his really poor defensive game. He's poor in coverage, brutal in front of the net, and gets pushed around in the corners. The minuses outweigh the positives.

Santini seems to play a rather simple game--nothing wrong with that.

Watching Zacha these past few nights has given me more hope for him. Hit a couple posts and is making smart passes (as usual). One thing about Zacha is that we're all painfully aware of him being 6th overall, but he's hasn't lit a league on fire since he was back in Czech U16.

Since then he's had very respectable numbers but nothing outrageous. Always been a solid contributor along with the size speed and skill that says he has an a lot more to give. hopefully that a lot more part actually happens in the NHL in the future.

I do really like him though. He's 19 in the NHL. I would like to see him in a more involved spot on the PP as opposed to just being a big body in by the hash marks who sometimes gets the chance to move out and support the winger on the boards when in trouble, but I'm no coach

Yeah, Moore isn't very good. I'm just saying you need more than one blueliner who can skate and do anything offensively.

Since Zacha has been put on the top line with hall and PA I've seen a lot of promise from him his vision on the ice is very good just needs to get used to playing in the NHL made some nice passes but they were picked off or broken up over time he will learn I see him as more of a set up guy then a scorer hopefully can turn into the top line center this team has been lacking for years

True. And Quincey struggles in both those areas.

It boggles my mind it took them so long to try giving Santini a shot with how poor the defense has been all season.

Pretty sure call-ups are a GM decision

I think it was evident after the Hall/Larsson trade, when no efforts were made to address the defense in any meaningful manner, that Shero would be waiting out the year in assembling a contender (aka Top 8 team). This is still the rebuild.

The defense this year is pure patchwork, short-term solutions outside of Greene and Severson. Lovejoy was invested in longer than that, but he'll never be viewed as more than a 3rd pair guy on a contending team. He's fine if you fill out the middle.

Auvitu and Santini are clearly worth investing time and patience with, but not expected to cure anything this year.

Who claimed him? Please say it's Nashville again.

Edit: Damn Vancouver.

Small, doesn't skate particularly well, good AHL numbers, hasn;t really made much of an impact in the NHL.

Who was he playing with?
Any PP or PK time?
What sort of linemates does he suit?

thanks in advance

He bounced up and down the lines in NJ. Mostly getting 3d line minutes. Got some PP time.

Need a playmaker at center with him, he's not going to create a lot of his own chances but he can shoot if someone can feed him.

He tore it up at points in the AHL though.

I don't complain about Quincey because he's been decent despite his limited speed... But being on PP is silly. Bring up Mozik and maybe sit Loverboy or Merrill for a game.

Also I wouldn't mind trying Moore with Santini.

I'd be open to Severson and Santini as well

Oh true. I was only thinking of the opportunity for Severson to let loose offensively

Moving him back with Greene would be the move I think. Lovejoy is so bad he is affecting Greene. I get he can play a lot of minutes, but they aren't necessarily good minutes.
