Supplemental discipline? For what? That kind of positioning takes place constantly.

At first I thought that check was just McQuaid defending himself from a hit by Larsson. However, after looking at it again, McQuaid really did go out of his way to interfere with Larsson. You simply cannot impede a guy from getting to the puck, that is Interference by definition basically. So, regardless of whether or not these hits happen, it should have been a penalty. The fact that Larsson went flying like he did and was hurt like he was, is unfortunate. That said, that amount of force further shows that McQuaid was doing more than defending himself against Larsson. Back in the days of real hockey, this would have been more acceptable but also punishable by an enforcer of equal if not greater build than McQuaid. Same old story, Sabres keep getting bullied by opponents... Especially the Bruins.

He knew who he was going in the corner with. He should've been ready for it

I'm sensing there would be a different tone from garth if mcquaid was the one sent into the boards

Your commentary on the hit is a joke.

Don't blue and yellow goggles me, you blue and white clown. I didn't say that McQuaid try to hurt him. I just stated a fact. He saw Larsson heading into the corner with him and so McQuaid then diverted himself for a moment to throw his shoulder into Larsson. Hitting a guy without the puck and preventing him from making a play on the puck is Interference. It's as simple as that. Hits like these do happen frequently and Larsson suffered an outcome worst than most (because he wasn't prepared to get hit... debatable whether or not he should have been prepared for it, nonetheless he was caught off balance and paid the price). I didn't say it was a dirty play or an attempt to hurt the guy by McQuaid. It was Interference, players commit the crime every game... sometimes it gets called and sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't change the fact of whether or not it should have been called for what it was, Interference.
