NHL Rumor Buzz: Blue Jackets, Hawks and Avs rumors

Our good friend from Boston is dreaming here IMO.

1. Hartnall has two more years at the same salary, and his performance has not dropped. He's on the powerplay, and he gets important minutes on a team where they roll four lines. Right now he is a great fit and doing great work for the team, and has moved up a line or two at times. He has not slowed down, and his play is at a high level. The CBJ can live with the cap hit.

2. Dubi will be 35 when his contract ends, and for at least three of the those five years he can still be considered in his prime unless he's hurt.

3. Clarkson was damaged goods when Toronto traded him to the CBJ. He's never playing again, so his salary is there if they need it as a LTIR player. Hate to see a player's career end like that, but he will get paid well for working on his back so he can havre a good life after the contract ends.
