How about scheduling 0 per year.
That sounds good to me. |

Outdoor games are nothing but a money grab. From the stands the games are unwatchable. It is a place to be seen and get drunk. From a spectator view the games stink. Overpriced and only the people who want to be seen and say I was there are interested. Hockey purists think it is a JOKE |

The events themselves are cool. They views stink, but doing one of them once is a fun experience for everything involved. As an on-ice product, it's nothing special. |

100% money grab. But the NHL and teams are a business. If fans keep buying tickets and selling out stadiums, then as much as the game really sucks!! Well keep doing them!! It was a little rediculous a few years ago when Vancouver hosted the haratige classic a BC place horrible game horrible to watch it was too late in the season and nobody was interested. But it made money and I guess that's the name of the game! |

One every year on New Year's Day where it is truly cold outside (i.e. Canada). Holding outdoor games in Southern California seems pretty absurd to me. Unless it is a special year like this year with the Centennial Game one is enough. |

People are so quick to say "cash grab". Even if it is, who cares? The players and their families obviously enjoy it, The Road to The Winter Classic series' are great, and as a fan it's a unique experience whether you enjoy the game or not.
Now if we start having like 8-10 of them a year, then yeah that seems a little cheesy. |

On a national television level, they aren't as big of a deal anymore, but for the local fanbases they are a lot of fun. I don't go out of my way to watch them on tv, but I went to the Centennial and for the fans there it was a blast. I think the Centennial benefited from the venue as well, the sight lines were good and it did not seem like the action was as far away as it looks in the baseball and big football venues. |

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but everything the NHL does is a cash grab. If people are buying the tickets, go for it. Give everyone outdoor games. There aren't really any negatives except grumpy people getting grumpy. |

Hearing this question is waaaaaaay more annoying then the outdoor games.. they are what they are, if nothing at all they're a great boost to the economies of the cities they're in and the event is for the fans of that city.. it's a great outdoor event for places that have a winter and there's no outdoor event's to the scale of an nhl game to go to.. |
