Tanner, was no doubt, one who said Trump would NEVER win the election. Stick to something you know about. Stay out of politics. |

The Coyotes game yesterday was actually pretty fun to watch. You should have caught it, James. Crouse and Chychrun had good moments.
Also there is something wrong spelling it with "Jan Halak".. Can't quite put my finger on it..
And aquiring him would mean an 11.75 million cap hit for the next season and a half for Nashville's goalies..
Also, "Leafs's" can't be right.. |

I'm going to have to razz you about something James.
MINUS
Why do you never get off the couch to write a blog for Coyotes vs. Flames games!!! It bugs me more than I'd like to admit because I enjoy your input as excellent or infuriating as it might be, I truly do appreciate your work on Hockey Buzz.
PLUS
Maybe as a New Years resolution you can start writing blogs for Coyotes/Flames games, I don't know. I know us Flames fans would appreciate it, as much as we like Todd, he can be a little dry, and short most of the time. A different perspective is always nice, ya know...
Ps. Loved the bit on your son. Sometimes the lot of us humans have our heads too far up our own butts to look around and enjoy life and have fun. Glad to have you around Tanner. |

LOL!!! If you voted for Trump clearly you don't know anything about politics either!!!
Edit: Sorry sorry. Everybody's entitled to their own views, I know I know. I can hear the whistle on the hate train a coming and the year has just begun... Best of luck to everyone and their families this year, we all could use it. |

It's hard to take the analytics argument seriously when you're on here saying that we shouldn't focus so much on wins and losses. If having great advanced stats doesn't translate into wins, maybe those stats aren't as important as stats guys want us to think.
I don't think it's really fair that you constantly bash the traditional guys when they're making arguments for teams being good and those teams are also at the top of the standings. |

Oh Jesus, with all due respect, get a life......was my initial reaction, but I guess you're right, I should spell things correctly. However, It's New Years day and I ain't exactly feeling too top notch, so I figure you could cut me some slack.
Also, if it gives the Preds a legit chance at the Cup, then they have to bite the bullet and take on that contract. Maybe they can find someone to take Rinne. Maybe they send a contract back. Don't act like it's impossible, because it's not. Clearly they need to send a contract back or they would have taken him on waivers.
Their team stats are near the top.
Their goalie stats are near the bottom.
They don't have the record their stats say they should have.
An actual above average goaltender is available for free.
Seems obvious what they need to do. |

Hey thanks. I don't generally do specific game reviews because they are boring (to me) and also, usually the other guy (i,e the blogger for whoever the Coyotes play) does one and then it's basically overkill.
While I try to watch nearly every Coyotes game, I spent New Years Eve with the fam and didn't watch any hockey. I am sure it was a fun game though.

24 is one of my favorite shows all-time. I'm pumped for the show to return. If you were a fan of that show, Kiefer Sutherland's new show, Designated Survivor, has been really good so far, and there are a lot of similarities between the two shows. Definitely suggest it to 24 fans that haven't seen it. |

It's not about ignoring wins and losses. Think of this way:
You're the GM of a team. It's the trade deadline and you're in Playoff contention with a month left in the season, thanks to a recent stretch where you went 9-1.
You have a young team and you have to measure the experience they'll gain from the Playoffs vs the fact you want to keep all your draft picks and prospects for the future when you think you'll be better.
When deciding if you should add a player or two for the stretch run, wouldn't it be useful to know whether you won those nine games because your team turned a corner or because you went on a hot streak where you got all the bounces and thus had favorable results that are unlikely to continue?
Analytics are useful for giving you probabilities and saying what is likely to occur. Keep in mind though that even though you'd bet as much as you could afford to lose if given an 80% probability of winning, that one in five times you'll still lose the bet.

Yeah I have been digging that show too. It definitely has some problems that are not unusual to non-cable TV shows, but it's generally entertaining. |

Happy New Years Mr. Tanner
You can get a good, new, pair of skates for $200 dollars easily. Go to Sportchek, assuming you're only skating lightly a few times per week, they'll set you up in a good pair. |

Best blogger on here, by a long shot. Henderson could learn a thing or two. All we get are pregame notes. Booooooring. |

Is it binge watch worthy?! I like binge watching whole seasons at a time and 24 has been on the back of my mind to get for years now. And Dexter. And How I met your mother. Any suggestions?! The ones I have covered are:
Game of Thrones
Big Bang Theory
House
Sons of Anarchy
Walking Dead
CSI series
And a whole lot more I could think of if I could think right right now. Still pretty hungover, that's for sure... |

24 is awesome, especially seasons 1-3. One of the greatest action shows ever in my opinion. Dexter is good but gets absurdly stupid after a while (unlike 24, it's never meant to be, so it sort of deteriorates). How I Met Your Mother is the worst thing I've ever seen. Watch the Americans, and the Wire - the two best shows ever made. |

I'll trade you Todd Corrdell and a second rounder for Matt Henderson. I'd give you a first butt Hendo hates us with the power of a thousand suns or some poop like that.. |

Great, thanks bro. I've been looking for new series to watch and this is an excellent start! Cheers! |
