Short of a trade, this team is not winning anything, with or without Galchenyuk.

I think maybe a little generous with 50 minutes, I didn't feel they were much of anything in the whole third period.

I would like to add a couple more flops :

1) clearing attempts- seriously ? I'm no pro obviously but the only thing I can think of that justifies poor clearing is not practice, cuz these guys are pros , but panic . It's one thing for Gally to grip the stick offensively but the moment u become a liability defensively it's time to keep the bench warm.

2) coaching- we were out coached last night, plain and simple, and certainly not for the first time.What good is a timeout after the game is over? What happened to the blender ? Let's give Gally more ice time to reward his giveaways, that'll show everyone how to get pp time ...

Seems like Mtl's bottom 6 players are getting tired.

Playing top 6 roles might work for a while but on the long run, they naturally falter.

They have made a great job replacing Chucky, DD and Shaw but now it's time for Bergevin to give them a boost.

We all know what Gally can do. He is on a slump and MT doesn't have much choice, with all the injuries, to give him all the opportunities to find his old self.

My biggest problem with last night was more with the Dman management. Lightning are the second fastest team in the East after Pittsburgh. Don't sit behind the bench and wonder why Emelin+Weber are struggling. Move Beaulieu next to Weber and Emelin with Petry. Why is it that the forward lines can be changed every second game, sometimes three times in a night, but the coaching staff can't figure out that fixing the D pairings can help with a game?

Very much agree with this. Very rarely do the D pairings get changed in game. Florida will be fast tonight and Beaulieu should play with Weber. Emelin and Petry are a very solid #2 duo. Redmond should get a chance on the second PP unit as well.
