Why must people try to force this Hamilton rumour. I'm sure eklund isn't pulling this out of his ass, his "sources" are telling him this. But unless Toronto way over pays for him it wouldn't happen.

Of those 3 teams, JVR to NYI would make the most sense. Ladd doesn't seem to have worked out too well for them and I think they are desperately trying to find a winger for Tavares. Maybe they are getting a little worried Johnny T might leave via free agency to go play with better wingers.

JVR for Hamonic? I know he took back his trade request but is there something there that could make sense? That deal would be more along the lines of the Hall for Larsson mold than some of the other suggestions.

If Avs are asking about JVR, pretty sure the Leafs are asking for Barrie and I think that'd be a non-starter for Sakic.

Kadri for Hamilton doesn't really make any sense for either team the way each is playing.

Maybe Calgary is shopping him for help up front......it won't be an over payment.

Isles could move Hamonic with guys like Pulock and Pelech in the system. Isles and Leafs would seem to be a fit for a deal.

Matt Duchene is worth more than JVR



If you are going to make up trade proposals at least try to make it even in terms of value.

We will send you Perreault, Postma and a 2nd rounder for Hamonic.

Leafs don;t need Duchene and he is expensive.
If the leafs trade JVR they will be short a big powerful winger up front. Only way they they agree to create that hole is if a top 4 dman comes back in return.

Kadri and/or Bozak are the two guys that can be traded, because Nylander is (almost) ready to step in and fill the hole. Again for defensive help, not to swap forwards.

That trade request was to go out to Western Canada so that he could be closer to family. Isles obviously don't want to move him and he's apparently changed his mind.

What I don't get is why on earth would the Leafs, who should have about 10-15 more points based on their play, and can expect to rise in the standings as the year goes on, would ever consider trading players who are currently good. They have 3 years when their rookies don't make any real money, so there really is no use in building for the future. I hope they don't trade JVR or Kadri.
