Carol Schram: Ryan Miller, Sven Baertschi return as Vancouver Canucks close out road trip After missing two games due to injury, Ryan Miller returns to the net as the Vancouver Canucks take on the Carolina Hurricanes. Sven Baertschi also rejoins the lineup after being scratched on Sunday against Washington.

Thank you Carol!

With all due respect to Lack, his less than stellar stats in Carolina make the Brisebois pick look even better. Not sure he makes the cut on Team Canada's stacked D but for him to get an invite is quite an accomplishment.

Thanks Carol,

Good timing as always.

I like what Carolina has done the past few years, they have assembled a solid group of young talent despite not getting to pick in the top 3.

They also have kept those 2nd round picks resulting in Aho, Faulk and Rask to go along with thier top 5 picks in Lindholm and Hanifin.

I imagine the Canucks rebuild will be similar to theirs.

No matter which it is, it's very good for JV. If he stays hot for a large stretch maybe consider the call up. I'm very impressed JV has responded and clearly doesn't want to be in the AHL. Hopefully he comes back with a chip on his shoulder and starts banging like he did the second half of last year.

Agreed, but i think his biggest issue is and has been conditioning.

Kid camp into camp out of shape and has struggled to maintain the ability to go hard for 45 second shifts, both in the NHL and still currently, in the AHL where Green appears to only be throwing him out there for 25 second runs.

It's nice that he's scoring some goals (keeping in mind that 2 have been a tip, 1 has been a 4 man scuffle in the paint, with only one being a true snipe) but until the kid is capable of playing hard consistently over the course of a single 'big boy' shift, he has absolutely no place on this line-up or league.

Never thought I'd say it but Miller has looked great his last few starts. Too bad it took him 30 games to do so. Nucks might contend in this one...

I hated the lack deal at the time, mostly because I had thought he had carried this group into the playoffs but a few years later, he hasn't been able to replicate his success here.

I'm certainly happy with the exchange now.

Isn't a lot out there quite yet. Just going by scoring

Just going by scoring stats. The Top 2 guys, and Zach Aston-Reese who plays with Adam Gaudette. Maybe Gaudette helps get him to Van like Boeser did with Stecher.

4-3 Canes in OT, after the Canucks blow a 3-0 lead going into the third period, ala Blackhawks. JB is quoted after the game that he should have probably thought his telling the media he won't ask a player to waive his no-trade clause was kind of stupid on his part.

A win doesn't get us a top 5 pick you know. 5 goals scored by canucks or another 9 game losing streak.

They let go the face of the franchise and have built through the draft and seem to be doing pretty good. Linden should take note

Ya, I think the year in NHL maybe gave him the wrong message, the AHL is a good idea whether for another 20 or for the rest of the year to make him earn it.

Tyler K. Don't know anything about him but leading scorer isn't all that small at 5'10".

thanks for the share. Vechionne sounds pretty good to me, at 5 '10 he's a little undersized but not enough to rule him out. Brady Ferguson also sounds pretty good at 6 ft
