Reaves goal shouldn't have counted as it looked like it should have been an icing.

From the parts I watched. seemed like a good road W.

didn't see what should have been an icing. Great deflection from someone you don't expect it from. Solid game. Hunt looked lost for a bit, not stepping up at the blue line a few times, but other than that he made a great play to set up Fabbri. They chose to bring him up instead of Lindbohm?????? Good to see another guy get a chance and play decent. Surprised me to see him get some pp time. Allen is terrible about rebounds

I disaree about the Reaves goal. The dman suddenly got a case of alligator arms and went to play the man not the puck. He had two chances to get the puck.

Besides the Blues lost a game when icing was called and the puck was tipped past the center line.

Hunt looked really good. Somewhat weak in one n one in his own zone but he was tenacious enough to cause disruption. He has a hell of a shot and reminds me a lot of Steve Duchense but wh a much better shot and better skating.

I thought it was a very solid game. Some issues I would like to still see fixed but otherwise the kind of effort I expect from this team. Better movement on the power play, though Lehtera has no business on the number one unit, and is too cowardly to be the net front presence. He forced a bad pass early on a pp but made up for by getting tripped and leading to a 5 on 3.

The Blues need to find a better break out against aggressive forechecks and pinches. The wingers are often in no man's land neither covering a player nor ready to receive the puck on the end boards.

Reaves has shown a penchant for tipping pucks this year. He has had numerous good tips tha have gone wide, hit the post or hit someone on the way through.

I would put Reaves in front of the net on the pp.

Congratulations on pointing out that Jake Allen isnt as effective a goaltender as Carey Price. You could make the same comparison for 28 other starting goaltenders in the league with the same results. Carey Price is in a class of his own right now. It's questionable if the Canadians make the playoffs without him this year and he should probably be favoured for the Hart trophy. So if your going to compare Jake Allen's goaltending style to anyone to see if there's something lacking in his game, in my opinion, it would be far better to compare him with any other goaltender in the league. I think Allen is a great Goalie and his weaknesses really aren't more outstanding then we'll over 2/3 of the rest the leagues goalies.

Ugh. Poor play by Emundson on the first goal, creating a partial screen, making it hard to pick up the shot for Allen.

2 games so far but i am wondering why Hunt hasn't seen more NHL time. I get that he is a little small for a defenseman but its seems like he has the ability to step up into the play ofr an offensive threat at least. Ive seen a few times last game that he was out of position but i think that was him not knowing our system or style of play. He hasn't been terribly out of position defensively at least that i have seen.

don't pull the freaking goalie with more than a minute left and without sustained pressure.

It is as if there is no thought involved...well it is what you do. stupid.

Get pressure in the zone and then you sneak the goalie off. Otherwise they stop playing normal.

Also old Brucey whines and cries about an obvious no goal call and a few seconds later a weak call is made. Every time Parise or Suter is on the ice you can call them for a penalty.

No hooking, interference, or holding called on the Wild in the neutral zone and it can be called all night long. Suter gets to cross check players not once and hard enough to knock Steen down but as he gets up he gets another in. What in the frank is that?

Bs officiating in this league throughout the entire league. Garbage. Anytime you skate near the net trying to chase the dman Dub grabs the guy, which is holding.

Yes non calls happened both ways but geesh.

As to why in the hell Yakupov does not play especially against a team with speed is a mystery.

It probably had to do with small size, being in Edmonton and learning to play a more effective game as a small guy at the NHL level. On the right team you can get away with him but on a team like Edmonton he isn't getting help. Look at Schultz when he was there he was over matched and over exposed. Hardly any Oiler forwards used to play on the defensive side.

We will see if he keeps looking this good.

The Blues got worn out this game. Makes no sense why so many games in so few days and then other times three and four days off inbetween.

Then they forechecked the Blues hard in the second and the Blues had trouble the first two thirds of the second.

The third I call it whistle blind bs.

All of a sudden the last two games Lehtera is on the first pp unit and we get absolutely no net front presence which is his job on the unit.

I would rather see Reaves in front of the net, hell just about any other player out there but Lehtera. He has become the worst contract signing by Armstrong.

I agree. At first it looked like he was going to be a good center to play with Tarasenko but he has really gone downhill since signing that contract. Not even sure he would get claimed in the expansion draft at this point.

Yeah a bit small to play big minutes but he's a smooth skater, good passer, and plays an aggressive brand of defense for a little guy. It's good that he shoots left. Blues might need him even more down the road if they lose a couple D men over the summer.

My wife and I were in town for a game against Colorado last month and ate at Rosalita's Cantina on Washington Ave. Pretty good if you're in the mood for Mexican (or at least what St. Louis thinks is Mexican). I also like the buffet at Maurizio's Pizza at the corner of Tucker and Clark. Don't expect gourmet; but it's reasonable, quick, and always full of Blues fans before a game.
