Carol Schram: Jack Skille, Jayson Megna lead Vancouver Canucks to 5-1 win over Lightning Great play by Ryan Miller and some lucky bounces led to a 5-1 road win for the Vancouver Canucks over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.

So glad we out of that Garrison contract. Nice guy, but how can you finish -4 to the Canucks?

More importantly we dodged a bullet by not grabbing Kucherov in 09

I can't believe Arizona traded for Peter Holland.

I just saw the forecast, there's a high of -15 coming this weekend. That's pretty much -30 for you dry climate folks.
- golfingsince

Just wanna point out that once you drop below -40 moisture is basically non existent so it doesn't really matter

Wonder if we'll see Megna play with the Sedins this weekend...

It more or less has to do with a roster spot.

Just wait till the conditions are released

Most likely it is something similar to Jonathan Bernier's "conditions" which involved him winning the cup and starting every game in the playoffs for them to get anything back.

I'm sure Millers 'injuries' appear at pretty much the time he needs off...

I counted 63 players taken in 2nd round between 2000-2009 that have either scored 200 pts or played in 400 games.

That doesn't include guys like Slivferberg, Chiasson, Orlov, Tatar, Pirri, Jake Allan, Voynov, Scandella, Jimmy Hayes, Wiercioch, Neuvirth, Petry, Pavelec, McQuaid, Soderberg, Bickell, Crawfod, Howard among others who will likely hit those totals.

Add those guys and you are averaging 8 very effective NHLers per year. I still don't get how some people don't see the value of these picks.

I think Holland is a better player than Megna/Chaput. His NHL production has been slightly better than Granlunds although he is a bit older.

We have had TWO second round picks in 7 years. & people wonder why our organization is hands down the worst drafting team in the league since 2000.

2016 = 0
2015 = 0
2014 = Demko (probably our top prospect the way he is trending)
2013 = 0
2012 = Mallet
2011 = 0
2010 = 0

2011 & 2012 were understandable tough.

I wouldn't put it past Willie to get Megna a 6 game run with the Sedins...we are talking about the guy that put our best centre starting the year with Dorsett and Burrows.

Happy that Horvat has improved Burrs trade value though...

I don't think he is a bad hockey player but at some point i'm sure Toronto would have had to put him on waivers and since Arizona is the worst team in the league, they get first crack at him.

True, they clearly didn't have a spot for him and managed to get a conditional pick for whatever that's worth. I imagine just the extra contract and cap space is worth it.

I would be surprised to see Holland do better with some ice time in Arizona.

Average points by division:

Central: 29.6
Pacific: 28.7

Atlantic: 30.4
Metropolitan: 32.6

Pacific division teams also have more GP than the other 3 divs, albeit not by much.

Pacific seems to get worse year after year, yet no easier to play in.

You can bet now that Skilless and Megna have showed up finally WD will move them up the lines...who that will be with remains to be seen.

Sutter is a bust with the twins at this point so with Hansen returning I can see him back with Sedins...which makes sense. We need to utilize Sutter for what he is best as and that's a 200' game at the centre position...2nd or third line.
