Although technically correct. Nashville is in fact out of a playoff position as we write these comments but they are 1 point behind behind Winnipeg & 2 behind Calgary with 4 games in hand on both. I use winning % for looking at where teams are in the standings. We currently have a 5 game disparity between the teams that have played the most games in the NHL & the least. That's almost a 20% variance & that's significant.

Considering no team had a more difficult start to the season than Nashville who played 8 of it's 1st 9 games against teams that made the playoffs last season & with the exception of Detroit I'm talking the NHL elite. All is fine in Nashville. They make the playoffs in a walk. I had them 2nd in the central to start the season nominally better than Chicago. Talking 1 or 2 points. I have StL 1st.

This team is a long way from being a playoff team.
Pretty sad when Austin Watson is your best player. (No offense Austin)

This team misses the playoffs. Sad, but true.

Poile screwed this team with the Weber trade. They have no physical play and Subban gets pushed around like Ellis. Dallas game shows how pathetic they are.

The trade improves the Preds in the long term, so that leaves time for Poile to do the necessary adjustments.

If that can make you feel better, Weber has been rather average after an excellent month of October. Now he's still solid defensively, but brings almost nothing offensively. Not sure if he's hurt or something, or maybe playing with Emelin doesn't help, but yeah...

I still like the Weber/Subban trade. I see a team that is still trying to find chemistry. I'm not one to complain about injuries, however, they've been hit early with them. Poile will make the necessary adjustments. Better to peak later than early. They will pull it together.
