that was a great injury report..... thats all
Goalie plan ?
why is Clendening a 5-6 D man working on his game getting so much concern
none of our D has been god awful, not like our goalie has at times
Mac & Shey / pair em & go from there ...sum day |

Jan Levine: Game 28: NYR-WPG, Injury depleted Rangers head to the road
Back to back with Winnipeg and Chicago - airjan23
Thanks Jan for all the info. Glad Raanta starts tonight, give Hank another day to think about things.
Really concerned about Buch, this seems to not be getting any better & now the bulging disc report & I know about those. Surgery may be the only way to long term fix that, which means, bye bye season. If that is what will happen, lets just do it now & stop fooling around with these "strengthen the core" & such. This kid is gonna be the real deal, it will suck, but I would rather shut him down for the year & fix his back for good. |

Our D hasn't been god awful? Klein?
I have advocated pairing McD and Skjei together for weeks, been a broken record
Would play Raanta for several games in a row, as I have said previously. Let Hank work with Allaire |

Nice work Jan, 100% agree, now is the perfect time to start Raanta for at least the next two games, at this point complaining about play is going to be futile, they just need to keep their heads above water until they can get healthy |

Thanks Jan.
Hank needs to sit for at least the next couple of games since he seems to have lost focus. Let him watch from the bench even if Raanta loses one or both of the next 2 games, can't be much worse than Hank has been.
Buch's condition has me worried. Like Brian said, if this requires surgery, do it now instead of messing around with conditioning so he can rehab and be ready for next year or the playoffs.
At least we get Grabner back tonight. |

I disagree he needs to sit for multiple games. I mean AV is not gonna do that anyway but taking the seat tonight & refocusing I think should be enough. I am confidant he comes back strong tomorrow in Chicago like he did in Philly 2 weeks ago.
It is def getting alarming that he is having many different bad games. Once in awhile happens but its starting to trend more often. I just think with him its better to play than to sit, he'll get back into it better by playing, not sitting. |

Let Hank take a few games off to work with Benny. Knowing he has a few games off to reset might take some pressure off. You know his compete level, I think he is in his own head right now. This might resolve his performance issues. |

Bottom line Hank has to string together some good performances, I don't have much faith that he can put back to back performances together and if Raanta starts against Winnipeg and wins I have even more concern for Hank to start the next one in Chicago, it's focus and confidence, Hank better be living with Benny soon |

We all know the competitor Hank is & keeps in great shape but he is gonna be 35 in February & it has to be said that maybe he is on the beginning of his decline. I really hope not & again like I said before, I have confidence he is gonna settle in here. |

He is a reflex goaltender. He stays deep in his crease, and relies on his reflexes to make saves. As he is getting older, there may come a time where he needs to adjust that a little, because the reflexes of someone in their lately 30s, aren't what they were years prior.

Long time reader. Just wanted to comment on this. Played hockey for 15 years and had two herniated disc in my back. L3/L4, L5/S1. Herniated disc is a complete tear meaning the disc is completely out hitting the nerve. Surgery does not guarantee your back will get better, just not worse than it is. I saw 3 surgeons, both said to get surgery. Got two epidural shots which helped the swelling around the disc which was hitting my nerve giving me severe leg weakness. With in 2 months i was 90-100%%. Point is, surgery does not always work but physical therapy and epidural will def help. Back injuries are the worst |
