But frowned upon, if the articles that get the most comments are the metric by which to judge.

I wish they would just say what the injury is. I hate hearing either Lower or Upper Body Injury. During the playoffs i can see why they don't talk or disclose injuries, but why don't they right now? At least to let the fans no other than he will be re evaluated in 6 weeks………

Cannot stand that.

How the hell does Hitch fail to mention Yakupov's great play on that line as well?

He covered for the other two with his exceptional speed by catching up the back check, kept the cycle going, won board battles and created chances. So yeah it makes sense not to mention him.

A win in a game I don't think they should have won. They only played one good period and it was apparently the right one.

Lehtera just looks blah.

The game didn't look great, especially the 1st 2 periods. But after sleeping and thinking about it, we were tied in shots going into the 3rd and we did have some decent scoring chances. We probably did not deserve to win that game but Montoya did make some decent saves through 2 periods to keep the Habs in the lead. Gunnar accidentally knocked 1 in against us and they hit 2 post so it could have been a 1-0 game going into the 3rd. It was a bad/ugly game but not as bad as the Winnipeg game.

They have had better periods 1 and 2, but they weren't getting worked by any means. MTL just made more of their chances. They looked great in the 3rd, and that goal by Schwartz...

Neither team looked particularly good. Besides the Berglund line in the first two periods the rest looked bad. The pp was atrocious. Montoya made maybe one and at most three good saves and the rest were terrible shots. Either they hit glass or they hit him in the emblem and neither type of shot is good.

There positioning in their own zone continued to be an issue.

So I am not overall happy with it. Once again against a team of water bugs the fourth line looked like AHL players out there. What is more is Hitch's continued attempt to play the fourth line against the other team's first line, especially at home where he can control match ups.

Only three Blues players have a higher GF/60 than Yakupov.

Only two players have a higher A/60 than Yakupov.

Yakupov is third in PF/60.

This is all five on five stats by the way, the way the game is typically played in the play offs.

He ranks 8th on the team in iCorsi.

This means that at five on five play he is one of the leaders at driving possesion and creating scoring chances.

So what gives? You can see it with your eyes and you can see the advanced stats show that he is an effective player so why all the hate and the lack of quality ice time?

Why did Hitch talk about getting him worked in and then putting him on the pp only to start scratching him? What occurred?

I thought Montreal choked a number of times with high quality scoring chances. So did the Blues but it seemed minus all the pp in the first two periods Montreal had the better possession in the Blues zone.

The third was different. But this team is so much better than what have been seeing. This team is a lot better than last year's team. The biggest difference are there are a lot of bad decsions made with the puck. Of course an over all younger team.

An example of someone that does not understand fancy stats. http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...efying-analytics-critics/

Look Chiarelli claims Russel passes the eye test and I disagree. He had some stretches in St. Louis where he looked good but was not someone you could generally count on in tough situations.

Last year the Blues in the play offs focused their forecheck on Russell. Why would that be? Because you know you can retrieve the puck from him.

I hope the Oilers sign him to a big extension at some point. Part of me roots for them to get good but shoot I wonder what Chiarelli saw in Kessel and Seguin enough to let them go on the cheap to other clubs? Keep in my mind Seguin would have made the Kessel trade a net positive with the other picks involved.
