So it would be rather fitting for you guys to reach .500 against your heathenish rivals. Grabner being out is a plus, as sad as the reason for it may be.

I AM NOT!

I legitimately enjoy this team for reasons that are increasingly hard to recall this season.

I don't have to remind you guys how these games often play out, anything can happen. Would not surprise me at all if the Isles pull out a great effort & win.

Well not ALL of them. Consider me a citizen of the HockeyBuzz.
While I may visit many threads I only actively root for the Oilers, Islanders and Devils. I tolerate most others and actively loathe a few.

I come by it honestly since the Rangers are one of the select few I loathe.

Regarding getting back to .500... I guess if you consider .500 to be half of your points possible, then the Islanders can get back there if they win tonight. On the other hand, at this moment, Eastern Conference teams are averaging 1.17 points per game because of the stupid shootout-loser point. So the Islanders, who have played 24 games, "should" have 28 points if they were truly right at average now... but of course, they only have 23. To be fair, I can say the same about my Flyers... it's great that they're on a win streak now and up to 31 points... but with 27 games played, they're still slightly below "average" (31.6). The moral of the story is that you can't treat .500 in the current-day NHL like you do in the other major sports leagues.

I take back all the times I rooted for you in the 80s with that all star squad...except for the 1984 Stanley Cup Finals.

Love that movie ! One of my favorites!

Sure it isn't Mono and not The Flu Noel. Mono can last 2 to 3 months? Maybe thats whats wrong with this team.

Well maybe the whole team is getting over it and will start playing better.

Nothing like a game against the Rags to cure what ails you.
