Solid write-up Pach.....it was a very sad sight to see the Sabres team that was flying against Ottawa and NY play like they didn't' give 2 poops for most of the game against the Bruins.

The Sabres passing was atrocious yesterday. They made it easier for Boston to defend against them. Hopefully they get that cleaned up. Hoping the Sabres can take 3 out of 4 points in the upcoming back to back games.

It's Lehner's fault because OFT-INJURED.

(Not responding to anything or anyone, in particular, but this comment seems to be as appropriate here and now as much as it ever is.)

Is there are rule that specifically mentions Guhle has to be sent back no matter what? If they wanted to could they choose to keep him and burn the year off the ELC?

Side note: Here's the other side of the CHL transfer rule that everyone hates so much, an unlikely/unfortunate scenario but if played out would leave Prince George playing the part of the ultimate fool, and pissing off a lot of its fans.

I would play the guy for 9 games, and then send him back. I wouldn't burn a year when he's missed a quarter of it already.

i dont think its that big of a deal. Its highly unlikely he gets a massive raise off his ELC anyways. Probably something similar to what McCabe got if i had to guess.

It's not the raise so much, but that is a factor because I think he'll be better than McCabe, it's that he's one year closer to UFA down the road

That's true but on the other hand you get him nhl experience now, sets him up well for next year. Plus hes an upgrade over gorges, fedun and faulk.

I wouldn't put Gorges in the same category as Fedun and Faulk. Gorges is better in his own end than both of them, has more hockey intelligence and experience than those two. I like some of the offensive skills of Fedun but that does not make the whole D. Gorges gets ripped unfairly on this site, he isn't great and I'd like to see more than one game from Guhle before I see how ready he is now.

I dont know how its unfair. Aside from the occasional hit and shot blocking hes pretty bad across the board in virtually every category and thats not just adv stats thats eye test.

So Josh Gorges play is the equivalent to career minor leaguers, not a 4 or 5 in the NHL. I bet most GM's in the would disagree.

Gorges makes smart plays that average fans don't see or appreciate. They just want goals, if no goals, then they aren't a good player. He's not an all star or first line but he's not the equivalent of a career minor leaguer either. Now his criticism has gone off the rails.

Anyway to feed the Bylyma hate...

Two coaches executives believe are on the hot seat at the moment: Winnipeg’s Paul Maurice and Buffalo’s Dan Bylsma. Sooner or later both have to start getting better results. The Jets should be in a playoff position in the West while the Sabres haven’t been healthy but they should have a better record.

Nothing ive ever posted in my time here would even remotely suggest that this is why i dislike gorges or like other defensemen.

The ottawa sun isnt exactly a credible source but here's hoping.

Hey Einstein, he's been in the NHL most if not all his career, was top D for the Habs, battled by two teams to try to get him in a trade the Sabres and the Leafs, has played and mentored a young player in Risto the last few years. He's currently in the NHL making millions of dollars I think I can deduce that most GM's would not see him as as the equivalent of a career minor leaguer
