Boucher had to use that timeout there. His guys had been chasing the puck around their zone for close to a full minute and had just iced the puck. Had he not called it and the Flyers scored off of the ensuing faceoff, he'd be getting blasted for not using it there.
The first Flyers goal was offside, but not by much, so I can understand the linesman missing that one.

I disagree...that's the old way of thinking before challenges existed.
This was early in the game and you don't want to throw away your chance at a challenge. Guys are pros and happens all the time that the little 30 seconds didn't make that much difference; as a matter of fact, it didn't change the momentum at all...Boucher should have taken a chance...
Furthermore, it even happen a few times after that the guys had an icing called after a full shift...what tired the guys more was the non-calls vs the Flyers (especially in the 2nd) and being on the PK instead...
Like I said, you won't find a single post of me b!tching the refs this year; it wasn't the ONLY factor in the loss but a very big one! the other being Boucher's error with the timeout...as soon as he took it, I told my girlfriend that it could end up biting them back in the ass; and it did!
