They should've made the change in the summer to bring the entire group into alignment. But whatever, it's just business.

here is my question. if you were forced to take one player back on a trade, between bobby ryan and David clarkson, which would it be?

do you take bobby ryan, on pace for about 30 points this year, at 7.25m I think. or David clarkson, 5.25m in salary, no cap hit because he's on LTIR.

which do you take?

I think it's an interesting question - it speaks to the intricacies of the effect of a salary cap.

If you have no interest in anything other than "the topic at hand", feel free to ignore, and not reply, similar to the comments that you have just directed at other posters.

I feel like your comments here violate the CoC.

Everything always has to have a Leaf connotation to it, if you don't want to discuss the Panthers topic then just move along.

Umm, are you a mod?

Also, neither of these players are Toronto Maple Leafs.

Please get with it.

I'm kind of surprised here. I admit I've only watched a couple of Panther games this year, but I would have thought their start would have expectedly been slow since they haven't had Huberdeau or Bjugstad(even though he returned three games ago).

oh no, you're definitely the rattled one.

Another topic - there were some Canucks fans quited pleased with the early season performance of the team, preaching that they were still a good team, and did not need rebuilding. Do you feel that the early season run was a horrible thing for the franchise?

Follow up question - will the Vancouver Canucks have a single player under the age of 36 break 40 points this year?

Follow up to follow up question - is the answer to the follow up question a good thing, or a bad thing?

Isn't it disconcerting for Panthers fans to have the GM and coach with no NHL experience?

they were coming off the franchise's best season in history. they also likely knew that they overachieved last season, got exposed in the playoffs and there would likely be a regression this year. so A) firing Gallant in the summer would have made them look ridiculous when this team inevitably played mediocre hockey this fall and B) leaving Gallant in position for 20 games gave them the opportunity to throw him under the bus.

it likely worked out exactly how they planned.

I'd be more than happy to discuss this in the Canucks thread.

Except they didn't want him touching that bus.

They just left him on the road, telling him to get a Cab.

A Richard move if you ask me.

I get why the panthers decided to let the coach go with the whole all in on analytics thing but you certainly could have handled it a little differently, it's not like you just all of a sudden decided that's it he must be let go and dumped curbside in Raleigh.

Very classless act in my opinion.

Can't wait for the Panthers to become the softest team in the league. Should only take about a week.

i think florida's problems have way more to do with the injuries and the revamping of their D than it had to do with gallant.. nice excuse for bad offseason moves.. well see i guess, if rowe can make his decisions on the blue line work out
