Agree that Granlund is making a case for himself. wonder who people think won the Granlund for Shink trade at this point...

Well seeing as how Sven has gone from bust to trade winner and back to bust, the jury is still out

Perfect opportunity to get rid of Sutter and his contract via the expansion draft. Getting rid of him helps the rebuild.

If the Canucks are out of the playoff picture, it could make sense to open up one more spot on the protected list by trading a valuable player like Hansen to a contender in exchange for a draft pick and/or a young player that wouldn't need to be protected.

Totally agree Carol, last year they could sit around and not make a deal, but this year there is repercussions for the lack of activity around the TDL. I hope JB moves Hansen, he isnt going to be around in 2 years time IMO, so while they might want to take him into the last year of the deal, the expansion draft will force them to think hard about his long term position with the team

Not to mention that the 'surging second coming' Granlund only has a single point lead over Sven 'da-bust' Baertschi

How does that help, we are already a bottom three team in the league with him in the line-up.

If it is between Sutter and Sbisa, well I think it is a no-brainer.

Sutter can produce.

Sbisa can........ make pizza.

Two things, ensures we stay there and frees up cap space so they can perhaps take on a contract and a good prospect that'll come with it.

Why would you lose him for nothing when you could recoup picks for him?

My narrative?

You may be willing to call that trade a win at this point but I am not.

Even if Shink continues to up points at his current 0.20ppg pace he would still only be a few points behind Granlund at the 20 game mark lol.

I don't think cap-space is going to be much of a concern over the next few years.....hopefully.

Was just thinking the same thing. He may not even get claimed - doesn't LV have a bunch of number cruncher assistant GMS's?
