Thank goodness Mrazek was in net for this shootout... the team should buy him a beer. He was outstanding. Still hoping Mantha gets a call up soon.

Who are these Wings? 6 in a row! I love it! Petr definitely stole that one. He played great. I think Torchetti and Houda have had a big impact on this team so far. More structure in the Wings game right now. They still chase too much for my liking but I like the high pressure aggressive fore check and using their speed to create turnovers. That OT was as run and gun as I've seen in awhile. Can the Wings make it 7 in a row? This is great! Ek said on hockey buzz that the Wings aren't very good. Well they still might not be but they're better than most people, myself included, thought they were. They've at least proven that.

Suck it Ek!

Though I also didn't think they would amount to much this year, and the year is still young....

but he can still suck it. Didn't he pick them to be last in the division? That is just stupid. At worst they are on the edge of the playoffs.

The overall team speed is faster this year... and the energy level and work ethic seems better (at least on this win streak). Have to tip your hat to the new coaching staff (and Blashill). St. Louis seemed to have a hard time keeping up with Detroit's speed at times.

I really like how Helm is playing this year. I wasn't a fan of his long contract, but he's earning his money right now. He's an important cog to this team at the moment. I am disappointed in Tatar's lack of offense so far. He needs to pick it up.

personally, i didnt think they played horrible,

but St louis Defense is much better than ours and it showed at times, kept us limited to shots and really kept us limited to where we were shooting from, Neilson goal really was pretty insane

How that wasnt a penalty shot for tatar i dont understand?

It wasn't a penalty shot because it's rigged. At least that's what Trump said.

"Chuck Fletcher had to make a roster move as Erik Haula and Jarred Spurgeon are set to return from injury, and that move was to waive Teemu Pulkkinen. Pulkkinen scored just one goal in the Wild's first eight games and found himself the odd man out. Zac Dalpe has played very well earning his spot in the lineup every night. Joel Eriksson's Ek is off to a flying start to his NHL career with two goals and five points in his first four games, making Pulkkinen the obvious choice as the player on the move."

Holland does suck eh? haha.

Although I was a supporter of Holland's offseason move, I didnt like letting Pelki walk for nothing, but figured there was just no room to wait for him to be effective any longer, and it appears Minny felt the same.

I still have tempered expectations for this group, but at least they are battling and have done what KH said it would do... faster and a little tougher.

long season yet though girls and boys,
hopefully they can continue to battle at this recent level no matter what the outcomes.

You can't blame Minnesota for taking a chance and grabbing Pulkinen off waivers. Even if he doesn't make the team he instantly makes their farm team much better and will help that team (Iowa Wild). I wish him the best. I had a lot fun watching him play for the GR Griffins. He helped that team win the Calder.

Most likely Minnesota is finding out what the Wings organization already knew... he's small, not a fast skater, and can't get his shot off as quickly as in the AHL. He just can't seem to create his own space like some of the other smaller skilled forwards in the NHL.

Id be more concerned if we were losing and he looked disconnected. Guys been making nice plays..should have gotten a penalty shot last night and still got robbed. He plays with heart and the chances just havent fallen his way. If we keep winning then i dont really care lol. Theres guys like sheahan and larkin to me that need to have more of an impact perhaps even Z. For some reason Tatar just seems to be snake bitten. At some point yeah...gotta find a way to produce but rn Im not too concerned from the eye test after 8 games. Just my opinion though

I agree.

I really like Tatar... and his efforts, but I think he is also just snakebitten. Larkin in the same boat... the only one that is too quiet for me is Sheahan, mind you I dont expect bucket of pts from him... he is a total shut down, big body, hold onto the puck to dish it off download.... those guys are hard to gauge on the scoresheet.
