Great write up Jammer.
I think the Hawks pk is the craziest stat. I mean if you stood still in a box for two minutes moving your sticks in the lanes, with Crawford as you goalie you would think you would come up with a better pk.
It's a combination for them: bad penalties and a bad pk. Now that has to be stuck in their minds a bit.
Goal scoring is up this year to start the season. I think the talent of the young players is titlting it. I think NHL teams going to smaller and more skilled players not only leads to them scoring more, but also causes them to give up more chances. That and there are less really good goalies in the league right now.
I watched the Hawks-Flames game last night. The Flames top line played better, but I saw some dominance by the Hawks.
I think it will be a big mistake starting Elliott tonight. He had to work hard last night. Good to see Matthew get a chance to play at home though I have no idea in hell why the Flames are putting out those lines. Chaisson on the top line is a joke. He killed a lot of their plays last night.
Hope the boys are amped up and destroy the Flames. Kicking them why they are down will help.
I wonder if there is an eye issue with Allen. He was having trouble picking pucks up he said after the last game and it showed. |

Moose is facing his old team for the first time, knowing he was going to get ursuped by Allen this year. I don't think he could possibly have any more motivation to win this game. Plus he is beloved in St Louis and will more than likely get a standing ovation from the crowd. Good luck, Moose is gonna kill it tonight!!! |

Haha, can't blame you! It's the old "If you want something done right, you have to do it your self" annoyingness*. Thanks for checking it out! |

Moose visit a synagogue and have a meeting with the rabies before the last game? |

I think the entire lineup was in reverse order.

Has anyone seen Tkachuk play? Seems a little odd for him to be a 4th liner. Is this due to forward depth?
Moose did well in the game last night and the only reason it was tied was due to a great deflection by Brodie?? i think, on his own net.
Glad he is starting tonight.
Let's Go Blues!!!!!! |

I hope that he's visiting rabbis and not rabies... He might end up with lock jaw with the latter... |

He actually has shown a bit of chemistry with Stajan. Also, we're starting to limit his minutes/get him playing against weaker match ups.
Tkachuk, in turn, has given us an offensive threat on the 4th line. That said, he's destined for a top 6 role. Honestly he's looked good on any line so far. |

C'mon Bernie...stop giving the Blues best D-men a pass tonight.
Shattenkirk got beat skating 175ft by Engelland....Lazy play by him where he pulled a controller disconnect once he got back into the Blues zone. Again Engelland outraced him down the ice.
Jaybo and Petro with no communication and both taking the same assignment (see Edmonton a different example of the same problem) which leaves Wideman open for the glorious chance and goal. |

This game became pointless to watch as soon as they announced Tim Peel was reffing. He screws the Blues every home game. |

what the fudge? I watched a Calgary player on pp skate right into a Blues forward and take him into the boards, softly, but neither had the puck. It opens a lane to the net.
Then Upshall's stick is slashed in half.
But with a few seconds left call too many men at the end of the period and call berglund for interference? what the hell is that. oh yeah the drunk Tim Peel is reffing.
This officiating is a joke. How many times Calgary is interferring and no call. If you call it one way call it both ways.
finally calling a hook.
the flames have three forwards towards the blue line in their zone most of the time and cheating towards a rush. this gives them odd man rushes but between their crap passing and all the openings it creates it has and should often lead to goals against.
How you do not shoot a lot on Elliott is a mystery as he is not very good. |

I am behind int he game but are the Blues trying to give Elliott a shut out on purpose? Schwartz in the slot has twice choked missing the net. |

Yeah that goal was all on Shattenkirk because he stopped skating the last two strides leaving him open which was his second mistake on the same play. |
