Nice blog as expected. Jen, do you still think a top 4 dman is more important than a top 6 forward for putting them over the top?

Sergachev looked better last night despite the mistake that led to the goal. Still hoping they send him back down to develop with more minutes after the 9 game stint.

he is struggling defensively IMO but with Redmond out for 6 weeks, TheKid might get loser to 9 games than they expected. he will be back with his Jr team in a week or 2.

Yea, i agree with you there. Just thought he looked a little better last night. I like how he laid the body on the guy at the blue line, but then he gave away the puck (which led to Chychrun's goal). Not exactly lighting it up offensively either.

Glad to see he can hold his own (to an extent) at this level. Future looks bright for him.

Lekhonen having 2 goals in 4 games is making things interesting to say the least.

I think that Bergevin can afford to wait and see how things play out over the first quarter/half of the season. If they are able to successfully keep Markov to 20 Minutes and Beaulieu can continue his play next to Weber, a top 4 isn't as necessary. I'm more concerned if Emelin can be consistent for now. If Plekanec is not able to provide the same 55/60 pts that we'be come accustomed to then There will be a greater need for a 2C.

He will be great, he's only 18 and got a taste of the NHL, he will only get better and stronger from here
