Keys to the game:
Forecheck the defensemen
Expose Olli Maatta
Screen the goaltender

The Habs should get a win if they do those things.

Habs don't forecheck. It's too dangerous.
Olli Maatta doesn't have to worry about anything.
Screen the goaltender? Are you crazy!? You can hurt yourself standing there.

Well...Shaw, Gallagher and Carr do it regularly

Don't expect it from anybody else though

Add in Lehkonen there! He's not afraid to go the net... at least Gallagher has a little more help now compared to the last few years...

All those guys get shoved around though, all the will in the world wont change the fact that they're going up against big, heavy NHL dmen every night... they need a guy that can match up physically to do some of the dirty work down there

To be fair, standing there when Shea Weber is about to shoot demands a high level of courage and balls of steel.

I missed most of the first 2 games, didn't really saw him play.

Not going to miss tonight's game though

Big test for Sergachev tonight

I think it sucks for Pateryn because he doesn't deserve to get benched. Not at all, he's been solid, had a great camp and deserves to be out there.

Sergachev has a boatload of talent, but if he plays this game like he did the one against the Sabres, he should be sent down because it's obvious he's not better right now than the other 6 defensemen we have and he needs to play.

Pateryn wasn't that good against Ottawa, he made it easy for MT to take him out of the line up and give one last game to Sergachev.

Perhaps, but the whole team had trouble against Ottawa imo.

And he wasn't the one who had the worst night.

RIP Markov's speed.

Pateryn will be the one coming in and out of the line up this year to let Redmond or Sergachev play. They will eventually sit Markov for back to back games.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them try Beaulieu on the powerplay with Weber at some point.

The lack of mobility from both guys is almost an invitation for the other team to score while on the PK.

Really? I think he does.

He's one of the few who drives the net and isn't scared to battle for pucks in front of and around it.
