I thought the individual goal song was kind of cool at first but I think I would just prefer one good song and develop a bit of history with it.
I will also add that the canucks last pick in the draft this year Brett McKenzie has 7 G and 5A in his first 8 games so far this season with North Bay.
He was a 2nd year eligible player but also had injury issues he bounced back from, hopefully he continues to do well and we should see him in Utica next year.
In both games you're seeing a huge load of shots from the D...if any of them start going in on a consistent basis, you are going to have a vastly different team, that will be a lot harder to play against.
It's still a defensive omni-shambles but the good news is that with such a young D core and a few options, things can improve.
The team finally seems to have a second line with enough centre depth (Sedin, Sutter, Granlund, Horvat, Gaunce, Labate) to make it through the season.
It's two games against some poor teams and they've had to come from behind, but I picked the Nucks to make the playoffs after the Gudbrandson trade...still think it will happen...we'll have a better picture in 18 games...

I find it a bit funny that Sbisa playing decent is surprising people. I thought most acknowledged that last season he had shown considerable improvement before injury derailed his season. I think we can start to expect him to be a physical bottom pairing guy, if he keeps simplifying his game he should reduce his brainfart plays which should reduce the scoring chances against. Might not generate much offensively, but keeping the puck out of the Canuck net is improvement

Some people acknowledged that Sbisa improved last year but also thought it was impossible he would improve again He is a fine 5/6 dman. He is not the teams problem, lack of proven scorers is the main concern
The St. Louis Blues should be more of a true litmus test for the boys tomorrow, not that they've played poorly, just that they played two non-playoff teams and both games went to OT.
As I said yesterday, if they can continue to play better defensively it goes a long ways in terms of keeping their GA in check! If they want a shot at the playoffs, there's a good place to start.
Again, not a flashy team, they generate almost nothing on the rush, but they do work well down low below the half-wall, which is where all their goals came from last night before OT.
It looks like JV is quite not ready. My understanding is that he packed on 20 lbs. of muscle so he may be getting used to his new body. Hard to tell. Really looking forward to seeing what Rodin can do with Bo and Baer. And there is nothing wrong with JV playing with Gaunce and Burrows/Dorsett. I know people are against it, but this team has to roll 4 lines to keep the Sedins fresh over the course of a long season. I know its the Flames and Canes, but so far so good.

I think that regardless of the outcomes the Canucks will be a tough team to play against, given what we have seen so far. I dont know if they will win many against top teams, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was a 2-1/3-1 game against the Blues. Finishing chances will be a premium for the team this year, wont have many and will need to finish them when they can

Agree this individual song thing has kind of run it's course...let's get something the audience can connect with and remember for every home goal.
How about JV slamming that dudes head into the boards!
Old time hockey!!! I love it! - DuranDuran
JV is going to constantly have a target on his back. He seems to dish out the hits that can sometimes be borderline penalties but he is going to have to expect to be hit like he was from Bouma. He does bring a certain edge to the Canucks that we don't have with anyone else (excluding DD).

He may Be ready and he may not be it's two games coming off an injury

Sbisa has played well, I think he is the easy target for people not wanting to see holes in the popular players games. I was actually pretty unimpressed with Hutton/Guddy, but then I've said since last season (when he moved to the top-4 because of injuries) Hutton is not ready for top-4 workload defensively. Time will tell, it's only the first two games.

I thought Hutton and Gudbranson had an off game defensively last night, mainly hutton, but I think they will be fine and are better suited for the top 4 than anyone else.

He has been thrown into the deep end to some extent and has the confidence of the coach. Everyone is hoping for the best and I guess we should expect the common 2nd season slump or dip in play. ( Gaudreau went around him in that Flames game, but he has gone around more than a few dmen)

Ya, I'm not saying there's a better option than Hutton, more that it's an oversight of management to not put a more reliable player to play with Guddy on the left side. It will be a tough season for Hutton I think, much like Bo last year.
