I think the team as a whole looked a lot better in the 2nd game. I agree with Boucher needing to be in. Severson had a solid game, and I also believe he is the best choice for Andy Greenes partner...he will only get better so stick with him until he learns the ropes 100% just as Lars did. I think judging by how the games have improved... our 1st win is not far away. I think we win tomorrow.

Kalinin off IR today I believe so perhaps slot him on 4th and move Wood to AHL..

Totally agree that getting a fourth line together that won't be pushed around is a big priority. I'd rather see Kalinin in then JJ for that purpose if we are only replacing one guy on that line. Also, not sure why Boucher is in the dog house. This team needs his shot in the lineup.

Absolutely. So much more aggressive and 34 SOG!
That was a tough one to lose though, after getting that go ahead goal disallowed.
I think this team will continue to get better as the season goes along.

Hynes wants a fast team and speed is something Boucher really lacks. That's got to be the only reason he's not in there.

At least he's honest, doesn't excuse how he mishandled Larsson though, dude could've been a stud way earlier. Granted I don't think the return could've been better regardless.

I think that along with Speers heading back to juniors is what's most likely. It's early so they are tinkering, but I figure there are two scenarios:

If Zacha stays with NJ

Boucher-Zacha-DSP
JJ- Fidler- Kalinin

If Zacha goes back

Boucher-JJ-DSP
Blandisi- Fiddler- Kalinin

In all seriousness though, it sucks losing players of Kovy and Parises caliber, but they signed their contracts before the latest changes to the CBA, including cap recapture. Those contracts could have been franchise killers if they both stayed.

Per Gross, Zacha out for JJ and Wood out for Boucher...interesting

agree, seeing what we have now (and to think our prospects would most likely be worse if one or both stayed) we may have been in the playoffs a few of those years but long term would have been awful

That's a bit speculative. Right now there are almost no post Kovy/Parise prospects on the team. Granted the farm system is a lot better but if that will translate into any long term success is far from certain.

I have not seen the Devils play yet, so...

Honest opinion on the team please, and..

has Hall done anything impressive?

Very shaky, but a lot of new players so we'll give them some time. I'm sure you can tell from this thread that Wood and Speers should be sent down. Hall has been mediocre but again, new team. He set up Henrique for an open net in game 1 OT and he missed somehow. He has made a good play here and there but hasn't been dominant as he needs to be.

Oh also Paranteau and Auvitu look the best out of everyone

I don't think Auvitu has looked the best. He's looked overwhelmed at times in his own zone.
