Teams 4-8 in my mind could end up anywhere. There seem to be reasonable arguments for any combination. However, in your expert opinion you have ranked the Sabres ahead of the Leafs. That is enough for me. Thank you.

Ouch, the Sens blogger not even seeing the team he writes for in the playoffs!

My preds would be:

1. Bolts (Easily the cream of the crop for the Atlantic)
2. Habs (if Price is healthy, automatic playoff berth)
3. Panthers (although they have serious injuries and not sure about Reims)
4. Ottawa (if they stay healthy, could even bump to 3rd! - Boro gone would help too )
5. Detroit (getting really old there)
6. Boston (what a mess over there...)
7. Leafs (Andersen CAN'T be that bad all year right?)
8. Sabres (was gonna put them higher then the leafs but way too many injuries to start the year with Eichel, Kane, O'reilly not feeling 100%, Okposo, Kulikov...)

EDIT: Top 4 making the playoffs

swap boston and detroit and i agree.

Sens could surprise. Likely a bubble team.

How does anyone consider Anderson top 10 anymore? He has lost a step the past two years. Too bad they traded the wrong goalie ie Ben Bishop. This is a playoff team last year and this year with Big Ben

My predictions are almost identical to yours ... I have Boston ahead of Detroit, your comment about Buffalo is also on target IMO.

I'd say he's top 15 for sure in the regular season... for all the seasons he's been with the Sens, he has a .924 SV% which is pretty good!
The funny thing with Andy is that he has a pattern to be really good 1 season and then average the next and so on... He's due this year to be the really good year!
.939
.914
.941
.911
.923
.916
2016-17: .???

And in the playoffs, he's always been stellar!

EDIT: It's even more impressive when you look at the crappy defense we had for years! (better now but man do we ever need a #4-5 D to get rid of Boro or only use him on extreme emergency!!!)

Unfortunately, Anderson's best days are behind him. He's still a capable starter when he's healthy, but he's not a goalie you can lean on any more - he needs support.

Bolts - hands down. Should win President's Trophy
Habs - as long as Carey is healthy, this division is weak enough that MTL will do well. They'd better, because this team is on the decline very soon
Panthers - some nice young pieces. Luongo still way better than average, and Jagr is a god
Leafs - best coach in the game, and a ridiculous crop of young talent. They'll start slowly, but will be dangerous once they gel. X-factor is Andersen. If he's competent, they'll fight for a playoff spot
Sabres - consistently underrated by analysts. Terrible off-season, but talented nonetheless
Bruins - old and lacking high end talent
Red Wings - the streak will end...
Sens - lacking high end talent. Sub par goaltending. Paper thin d-corps. No blue chippers in the pipeline. Start the rebuild now

I'm not trolling. Proof - I have the Habs second. Believe me, I do NOT like the Habs...

This is my honest opinion, and it's shared by many in the hockey world

And to the other guy - I get that you're high on your own prospects. But the key is looking at them relative to other teams. Comparatively, your prospects are weak

your team will have no prospects because they are all gonna be rushed into the nhl this season

quick question axl, who are these experts around the nhl that say that the sens have no prospect, defense, no high end talent ?(Karlsson (best defenceman in the world, stone etc). Just because Matthew( great prospect by the way) has a 1 good game he is a world beater?

No a big fan of our 2 pairing but they will get better...

Just a little worried about Anderson.

Go Sens go

Karlsson is unreal. No argument there. But the fact that the 2nd name you listed was "Stone" kinda proves my point
