Opening night predictions:

1. Flyers get goals from Ghost (PP), Voracek, Simmonds, and Weise. Giroux has 2 assists, Konecny gets his first point as a Flyer on the Voracek goal.

2. The Flyers go 4-for-5 on the PK.

3. Mason turns aside 25+ shots, allowing 2 goals.

4. Provorov leads all Flyers in TOI.

5. I fall asleep after the second period.

In the future, the NHL should require that every NHL team plays their season opener no later than 8 PM local time.

Eh, just some fun. True, but fun.

That Washington/Pittsburgh game was good last night; really, REALLY fast. Lots of scuffles, including Malkin getting chokeslammed, Holtby getting run, and Sestitov punching Wilson in the face a lot. Love the or hate them, they're fun to watch.

THAT is the kind of game I want to see the Flyers playing tonight. They may not have the same skills, but when they're on, they can play as fast as anyone.

Yeah, I've been up since 5am, I feel your pain. I'm willing to give Gordon a chance, and see how it plays out. I still think it will be a big help to G not having to take so many D zone faceoffs and getting less time on the PK.

Hey, I hope he becomes a contributor with faceoffs wins, good zone reads, and basically just keeping scoring chances against to a minimum. And I know that Gordon won't be the difference between us winning or not winning the cup. I've just been underwhelmed so far, hope he turns me around.

There was a time in my life when I'd embrace a Friday night 10:30 start time as just an extension to Friday Happy Hour.

This is not that time.

Flyers are back baby!!! So pumped for a great sports day. My Jays play at 8 and then flyers hit the ice at 1130. Can't wait to see provy and kony in action. Our window to win is opening. Make the dance and win a round is the goal this year.
