That second goal was an impressive effort, but I'm not sure there was a single Ottawa player on the ice that did not do something horribly wrong on that play.
This is not meant to take anything away from Matthews or the goal. He's definitely impressing in his debut. |

So frustrating matthews wasnt born a couple days earlier.. Then Buffalo has matthews and (frank)ing toronto is stuck with Eichel.
What's even more painful is Buffalo could of had Marner too and let arizona have eochel.
Marner is a magician. I hate toronto but whenever that kid touches the puck everything opens up. |

The last time an NHL rookie scored two goals in his first NHL game was Alexander Ovechkin in his rookie year. Ovechkin potted two goals in the second period of hs NHL debut.....
This is wrong btw. I know what you were trying to say, but the way you've said it is wrong.
ie. as one example, Brunnström became the third player in NHL history to score a hat trick in his debut game on October 15, 2008...which is long after Ovechkin played his first game. I assume you were trying to say the last time a first overall pick scored two goals in his first game.... |
