Good stuff Carol, didn't really know the scoop on Puulkanen. Skating is so huge in today's NHL, I can see why they passed. |

Nice write up!
Condon looks like a solid add by the Pens.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the roster in the next few days. Id prefer either of the PTOs over Etem at this point. But when your talking about a 13 guy it doesnt really matter. |

I vote for Skille, not too worried about the fact that he can't finish, I've seen him drive the net like a maniac, if he does that and we can bang in rebounds, great. In my mind he's a Dorsett-esque player, same skillset, similar speed but cheaper.
Ruutu gotta go and so does Etem |

But Dorsett is in our lineup, no? Why get redundant. Tuomo has a pretty tenacious forecheck, not unlike his brother when he played here. I've actually liked both players to be honest. |

Skille can fly as well. We need to get faster.
Ruutu is injury prone as well.
I think AHL is the best option for Virtanen currently. |

For what?? I can't see him having much value especially with all the waiver wire action the last couple of days. |

Not a bad pickup for the price, considering our RW depth is non existent. |

Still a veteran. Can score more then Skille but is a turnover machine.
I'd rather go young, but I also want young guys playing and developing. I think Stretcher move is better then him being 6)7 in the big league.
Just like I'd rather virt be top 9 or ahl |

No point in playing guys who are not ready. Its one thing Detroit always did so well. |

People in this market have to get off this stupid "asset management" concept with Benning. Look what goes through the waiver wire, let alone gets traded. The two forwards Detroit exposed are infinitely better than Corrado. And Detroit is hardly a stacked team. If Etem did not make the team, then move on. The waiver wire is filled with first round disappointments. Are there people still out there who are angry that we have Granlund instead of Shinkaurauk? |

Skille over Ruutu was the right choice. He brings speed and physicality, two things the team lacks. |

I think Ruutu is physical enough, but the speed is big for me.
Skille/burrows Gaunce Dorset/burrows is a decent 4yh line imo |

Corrado got turned into something else. People complained because Corrado was waived unnecessarily not because he didn't deserve to be waived.
Detroit ends up waiving good players every year because they are a good team and always seem to favor having some solid vet guys over guys who still haven't proved it. They can afford to lose a player who looks close every once in a while when they have 3 or 4 or them.
I'll be happy we have Granlund over shink if he can actually do something, which he still hasn't. Again it was never which player was better now but that shink had/has potential and time to reach it and that Granlund was NHL or waivers and likely didn't have much more developing left. |

Definitely, I think Skille should be the 13th forward but I'm not so sure from WD comments that, the player he was talking about was Gaunce instead. |

In the event Etem makes the team, imo he has to be the 13th forward to start. Skille has brought more the Etem. |

Flames took a gamble on Shink because they are hurting for scoring. Granlund is a good player but really not much space for him on the bottom 6 in Calgary. |
