My question for you is, in regards to Crosby, how did you arrive at this conclusion? - "Team Canada has now won 26 straight games with him in the lineup." |

Which is amazing because they lost 5-3 on September 9th with Crosby in the lineup. Besides it was ESPN, which means that fact checking is a good idea... |

september 9th was the pretournament game against usa right? cuz pretournament games doesn't count. in that case you could say mcdavid sucks cuz he had a -2 and no points in pretournament (1 of the only 2 with a - rating.) |

Not to bust your balls, but how can one be between average and above average? It is logically impossible, hence meaningless. |

Not true - they count. Crosby has played a total of 26 games for team Canada, when you add in the preliminary games. He was also on the 2010 Olympic team and played in the game in which Canada lost to the US.

prelimenary games = the group stage (the stage usa didn't get past this year). the game canada lost to usa was a warmup game. as was the win over usa. so they don't count. last time canada lost with sid in the lineup was 21 February 2010 to USA ye. in the olympics group stage. |

Rowney and Bengtsson stand out as pleasant surprises I didn't expect to see make it this far. I'm kind if rooting for Rowney as he's worked his tail off from way under the radar to at least a potential call up guy. |

As much as I like Guentzel there's no way I'm risking losing Kuhnkackl to waivers(he will absolutely get claimed) so that Guentzel can start the season with the big club, there will be plenty of chance for him to get playing time throughout the season with injuries. Depth is a must for championship run so you don't just throw away a valuable depth piece just to get a look at a young player that may not be ready.
Also, and this isn't meant to be a knock on Scott Wilson but doesn't he only have 1 goal so far in the preseason? How can he continue to fill the net if he isn't currently filling the net? |

Agree with the first part 100%. As for Wilson, I think people remember his quick six goals or whatever they were pre injury with regards to his scoring potential. I do think he could pot 15-20 this year with the right line mates and no injuries. Preseason games are a crap shoot. It's not like anyone absent Garret Wilson is scoring. Maybe we should keep him, right? |

As impressive has he's been, Guentzel can get a little more seasoning in WBS. But if I had to make a wager, I'd say he'll be on the roster come playoff time.
Wilson certainly deserves his shot to show what he can do on a scoring line. What else does he have to prove in the AHL? 22g in 34 games last year says he's done there. Hornqvist is really the only true top 6 guy playing with Malkin or Crosby, plenty of room for Wilson. |

I didn't realize he had lit the AHL up like that last season.I'd say that definitely deserves a look next to Crosby. |

I'm huge fans of Wilson and actually think his ceiling could go as high as 25g in our top 6 if given a full time role there. I just found it odd for RW to say "if he keeps filling the net in the preseason" when he's only scored 1 goal to this point. I was actually wondering if RW was just looking at the boxscore and assumed every tI'm he saw Wilson it was Scott Wilson, we all know he doesn't think there's a need to actually watch the games to know what happened. |

Wilson's biggest obstacle is his waiver exempt status, much like Guentzel he deserves a look with the big boys like Crosby & Malkin but ultimately that look isn't worth potentially losing a waiver eligible player like Sheary, Rust or Kuhnkackl or having to trade a player like Fehr to make room for him on the roster. At this point he would have to really impress the remainder of the preseason for me to consider risking losing a depth player to give Wilson a shot.
If you assume Sid, Geno, Bonino, Cullen, Kessel, Hornqvist, Hagelin, Kunitz and Fehr (13F) are all guaranteed roster spots that leaves Sheary, Rust, Kuhnkackl, Wilson, Guentzel and Porter battling for the 4 remaining roster spots. It's really going to come down to what they do with Fehr on how Wilson fits in, if they're comfortable committing to Fehr being the 13th forward then Wilson is a no Brainer but if they want Fehr in the everyday lineup then I think Wilson misses out due to the numbers game, if Fehr is dressing then it makes more sense to have Porter in the press box every night while Wilson plays big minutes in WBS than to have Wilson/Rust/Kuhnkackl/Sheary just wasting away in the press box.
