I'm not convinced that Puempel is NHL ready. I think that Dzingle takes the 2LW and runs away with it. Dzingle is getting better with every game while Puempel is not. Sounds like Dion really got into his head.

I would assume so that he doesn't miss training camp and stuff with his jr team. there was zero chance he was making this team, already had the rookie camp/tourney to show the sens what he had.....no sense in keeping him up

that's just my opinion, they might have an entirely different reason.

Dzingle was giving a lot of credit to Pheneuf for helping him with his mental game. In particular he was talking about mindset, mental preparation and successful behaviors. Dion spent a lot of time as pin cushion in TO, there's no way he got out there without learning a thing or two to deal with it. I guess went all Tony Robins on Dzingle and it really helped.

Peumpel has a real opportunity here with the injuries the team has sustained. He was drafted to be a goal scorer, time to show what he can do. He's certainly failed to live up to expectations so far

He's not getting any younger, if he isn't NHL ready yet, he may never be.

I think that Peumpel is alright and would fit on other teams maybe better than the Sens. Boucher came in and has talked nothing but speed and that is more Dzingles thing than Peumples. Peumple needs to get rid of the jitters before he can be successful. He looks like he holds stick to tight.

The blog and comments just emphasize the need to get another top 6 forward. Particularly for the left side.

Too bad we couldn't snag Quincy or Seidenberg for the left side on D on the 3rd pairing. Both would have been decent additions and for cheap.

Now that Michalek & Macathur are gone, the Sens LW is very shallow in proven NHL talent. After Hoffman it's not pretty. I think Dzingel will pass Peumple on the depth chart this season. But neither are top 6 NHLers .Biggest need for this team is most definitely the gapping hole at the #2 LW!

Mike Hoffman. Just unreal. Two ridiculous goals tonight. Even if he has a bit of a letdown during the year, his shot is so lethal that he can change the complexion of a game at any time.

He is the definiton of a game breaker.

I am really looking forward to seeing Stone's playmaking ability with Hoff's finish. It's baffling that they weren't put together much last season.

The only thing that concerns me is Turris. He doesn't look like he has the same speed as he did pre injury. Hopefully, I am reading too much into it and he is just floating through the preseason.

Can someone tell me again what we have to show for Jason Spezza (33 goals, 63 points this past season) and Ben Bishop (Vezina nominee for 2nd time since leaving Ottawa)

I bet you it's because they didn't want to pay up for Spezza atleast. The guy probably said how much am I getting.........they low balled him or tried to suggest it was going to be lower than he thought..... granted I like Brassard at 5M over him at 7M but still..... what a waste of 2 trades. Thank god Dorion is the one making trades now (atleast I hope!)

WTF is up with the Toronto Sports Network? The vid recap of the Sens/Habs game last night was like: oh, here's a Hab.. and he scores.! Here's another Hab making his debut. Here's another Hab trying to do a hip check but missing. Oh and BTW, Sens won.

The effing Leafs game on Monday was even worse: 1.5 of the 2 minutes was spent drooling over isolation shots of Marner skating around. What is up with these bumholes. God I'm so sick of this poop coverage.

And by the way, Marner looks like an arrogant little poop. I can't wait for someone to flatten that kid in the NZ. Welcome to the NHL shorty.

Plus, I'm sure you've all seen the Matthews glass shatter clip 500 times already on social media. A witty friend of mine's response: 'keep it in your pants , parade planners'.

I think Phil Verone has made a better case for himself than both Puempel and Dzingle.

Forsberg if you want to consider players on teams coached by an actual coach, and not some buffoon who couldn't lightly caramelize a couple of pieces of bread

LOL its only preseason game and some are projecting... but my observations are, Montreal can't finish if their lives depending on it, Pacioretti is an awful captain and Montreal better hope Price is injury free for the whole season. Which team looses after outshooting the opposition bymore than double? They seemed like they played better than the sens for a large part of the game, but Sens have higher caliber forwards and last night's game proved that. All it takes are little spans of 15 seconds and you can see the team destroying the Habs.
