one in a million was the best thing to happen for them financially

worst thing that happened from a musical level

Talk to Ya Later was a really good song

William Carrier - Daniel Catenacci - Cory Schneider

Pretty excited to see that we traded for Cory Schneider. Not sure if he is going to be as good on the RW as he is a goalie but you never know......

Would be a boon to all local restaurant servers if all the folks coming from Canada that don't tip could be banned.

Carrying over from last blog. I hear what everyone is saying about 5-6M being Risto's "fair value". But if he says he will not sign for that...now what? Do you trade him away (your only real top pairing defenseman in the entire organization). Or do you offer him the 6.5 or whatever that he wants and call it a day? Personally if he misses a game I put that on GMTM and not his agent...any agent will push for more money.

Fee Waybill had showmanship skills almost on par with Peter Gabriel. So much fun to watch live.

honestly, you do nothing but tell them this is the best we can do long term and thus work on a bridge while leaving the long term on the table

if you cave on risto, then you have eichel, lehner, reinhart, larsson and girgens seeing this and will thus wait for more money

I guess we'd need to define exactly what "cave" is in terms of $$$...I think less than $5M would be a bargain for buffalo...still think around $6m, dependent upon term, would be it...have been wrong before, and it turned out well for the sabres, so we'll see what happens

i think the market is set at 5.5. ekblad is not a comparable. i would probably go as high as 6, but no more. at some point you have to draw a line in the sand or everyone will want to hold out. worst case, wait til lindholm signs and shave $500,000 off of his annual number.

You work towards the middle ground and try to find a contract where both sides give a little and can be satisfied.

And of that list only Eichel and Reinhart will have the same kind of pull that Risto does. Can't give him an outlandish contract but can't lose a good player over it either. And we won't. He's an RFA, he really doesn't have many other options.

Jesus Christ.

We LIVED through this, somehow.

And I even remember some of it.
