Olympic Gold, Stanley Cup, World Championship Gold, World Jr. Gold, World Cup Gold, Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award, Rocket Richard, Conn Smythe and Hart Trophy. - RWilson
Ryan, are you sure that's specific enough? Maybe add a few more things like "named Sidney Crosby" or "born on 08/07/1987" to make sure he's the only one to ever do it.
In all seriousness, the guy's won almost everything you can win, but this is akin to those baseball stats, i.e. "He's 3rd in the division in batting average in night games against right-handed pitchers from other divisions after 8 PM when he bats 3rd or lower in the batting order Mondays through Wednesdays." |

A win by Canada also adds to the legacy of Jonathan Toews. He would be the only player in the history of hockey to win Olympic Gold, Stanley Cup, World Championship Gold, World Jr. Gold, World Cup Gold, NCAA Gold, Selke Trophy, Mark Messier Leadership Award, and Conn Smythe Trophy. All before the age of 28. Wow.
See how that works? Come up with enough specific things and you can do this for a lot of star players. |

I could probably do it for Leetch, Chelios, and maybe Chris Drury. But I won't. |

Possibly a better note is that with a Canada win:
(Standing corrected as below)
1) Corey Perry and Sidney Crosby will join Jonathan Toews, Scott Niedermayer, Joe Sakic as the only players to win all of:
- Stanley Cup
- Olympic Gold
- World Championship
- World Junior Championship
- World Cup
2) Corey Perry will join Scott Niedermayer as the only players to win all of:
- Stanley Cup
- Olympic Gold
- World Championship
- World Junior Championship
- World Cup
- Memorial Cup
But perhaps that doesn't meet the "best player in the world" narrative properly |

Pretty sure Toews won those as well.
- Stanley Cup (2010, 2013, 2015)
- Olympic Gold (2010, 2014)
- World Championship (2007)
- World Junior Championship (2006, 2007)
- World Cup (2016, pending)
Plus a WU17 Gold (2005) and a WCHA title (2006).
Not trying to make this a Toews vs. Crosby thing, just that you can take a random list of awards and honors, lump them together, and certain players will be the only one to have them all. |

Toews doesnt have a Hart or Art Ross. Crosby would be the only one to ever have everything he listed, wouldnt he? |

I sit corrected, thanks!
Taking a bunch of random crap and saying "only one to do that!" is lame. Taking all the major championships (normally available to a Canadian player) and saying "that's pretty good company" seems better.
I suppose someone could go play in the KHL after the NHL to get a Gagarin Cup, too. |

Yes, Ryan Wilson's random assortment of trophies, honors, and championships only applies to Sidney Crosby. I listed an equally impressive one for Jonathan Toews, and Toews is the only one to have them.
We all get that Sidney Crosby is an immensely talented player even as superstars go. That said, lumping a bunch of championships and trophies together and claiming it's a "milestone" since he's the only player to have them all is, to me, silly.
Ian Laperriere is the only player in NHL history to win a Masterson Trophy and have the name "Ian Laperriere." Is that impressive to you? I mean, he's the only player in NHL history to have that illustrious distinction. |

Well, at the tender age of 30, Sidney Crosby has finally mastered the art of growing a teenage mustache, so the chicks should start lining up soon. |
