That bottom six is so puny. Hopefully McCaron forces DD out. Oh and great blog as always.

the Habs need to parlay any improved play from Emelin into a trade.He is NOT top 4 material on this team and is way too expensive at $4.1 million per season for next 2 years to have play on the 3rd pairing

There is no doubt that his continued presence on the D will continue to stunt the development of Patyren and Barbario and to some extent Redmond.....all WAY cheaper options for the 3rd pairing

Ultimately, I expect Emelin to stick around and one of the afore mentioned to be lost, either via waivers or via a trade for a low draft pick or minor leaguer (= NOTHING!!) only to ply their skills well with another NHL team

McCarron in and DD out for sure, also adding a true top 6 LW to push Shaw back to the right side on the 3rd line would be nice.... Mac, Shaw and Carr would be my 3rd unit
