respectfully MiB... I disagree with your evaluations.
I thought Gauthier look dominating at times.. .particularly when forechecking - and his skating appears to have improved. With a little more luck both Marner and his linemates would have gotten a few points and then everyone would have praised him... Marner made play after play backchecking and cover up for his teammates.

Marner's probably going to hang around for the 9 games, maybe get lent for World Jrs and just kept in London to give him another off-season to get stronger.
He's shifty and quick, but against bigger kids in the tourney, he didn't look nearly as dominant.
Where's the bit on Lupul failing his physical? Didn't see that in the blog Mike. |

Meeh. That's kinda stupid then. I do like this tournament better than the Olympics though. Its essentially the same only NHL/NA rules. None of that "2 minutes for hitting too hard" bullpoop. |

It's a shame, but I think we'll see younger national teams from now on.
There's really no reason: if they can play in the NHL, in an 82-game grind of season with all kinds of unsavoury wienerheads looking to hurt you, you can play for your country against skilled, elite players. |
