I'm not convinced that USA is actually a grittier team than Canada. USA is just more one-dimensional.

They're just as gritty. The main difference is that nearly every single player on Canada also carries a level of skill that only one or two Americans have. David Backes and Corey Perry are probably almost identical in the "sandpaper" department. Except Corey Perry is actually a good hockey player to boot, and Backes is just a feral-dog-hoarding pile of trash.

Torts should have scratched himself form the tournament. The USA didn't stand a chance with him behind the bench.

The thought always seemed to be that Dubinsky was on the team so that he could matchup against Crosby in this game. Dubisnky has matched up against Crosby many times before when the Blue Jackets have played the Penguins. Dubinsky plays Crosby hard, even going over the edge but he has been able to get Crosby off his game. It doesn’t make much sense for Dubinsky to be on the team if you were not going to play him in this game. A very odd coaching decision.

I agreed with this point but after the game I was listening to some talk show commentary, and the announcer stated that if Torts did deploy Dubinsky against Crosby, all Babcock would have to do is move Bergeron to center and that would throw a wrench into Tort's plans. That and even if Dubinsky negated Crosby's play, there are still 11 other forwards that can do damage, Team Canada is anything but a one trick pony.

Personally, I would love to see team North America against Canada soon!!!

Agreed, although I will say, The decision to make Torts coach was disasterous, And whoever constructed this team, Leaving out PK, KO, and such is ridiculous.

Atleast reading Kessels tweet last night put a smile on my face. Funny as poop.

It's such a weird justification to use for Dubinsky's inclusion on the team.

In the 17 games Crosby has played head to head with Dubinsky and the Blue Jackets, he has put up 3 goals, 15 assists and 18 points.

Frankly, I think it is great that the US is out of the World Cup, and I hope there is some way both Russa and Team NA are out of the final four too (but obviously it is not happening).

Murray getting hurt is the absolute worst thing that could happen the CBJ, unless Saad, Jones, or Bob gets hurt too. So complain about Torts if you want, I just want the CBJ players in this tournament to be healthy when it ends.

So I'm glad Torts took Dubinisky and Johnson, and even more glad they were scratched against Canada. If the US picked a bad team, fine with me, it keeps oue players whole for training camp and the NHL season, the only thing that really matters.

I hope they are scratched for the final game, and on top of that I hope Bob is replaced in net for Russia. Now that Murray is hurt for Team NA, keep him on the bench, play Saad and Jones as few minutes as possible, and let that team be eliminated too. Get them back down to Columbus for training camp.
