I can't see Beaulieu going before we see what he can do playing with Weber on the top pair.

The thing is, if Beaulieu can't play a sustained amount of time on the first pair with Weber, who else will??

Markov can probably do it on some nights and Emelin simply can't.

So if Beaulieu can't do it, and since the Habs are supposed to be on a ''win now mode'', Bergevin will have to go get a LH top pairing D to play on a constant basis with Weber.

I think Beaulieu will be there guy or he will be gone comes december.

Depends of the return they can get for him (or more likely him+)...

EDIT : BTW Great blog as usual Jen ! I've never been a big reader and more often than not don't read any blogs around here but I gotta say I always take the time for yours.

Keep up the good work !

Very hard to move a player like Beaulieu even if you add a piece or 2 when you have no cap room to take on more salary and Beaulieu makes only 1M, hard to improve your team.

Beaulieu comes to the support of Patches in the media after the Therien comments come out... and now he may be on the move. Shocker. PK 2.0

Even if they fleeced another team, and got an excellent top 6 forward they're just digging a deeper hole on the backend.

If they move Beaulieu it's for a better D, not a forward IMO

Can you think of any target that would fit that criteria? Serious question, I can't think of any viable upgrade on Beaulieu. Shattenkirk plays right I think, and Fowler is probably a pretty marginal improvement.

Therrien is more than capable of having said what he is alleged to have said. Michel Villeneuve might be a blow-hard, but he would never put himself on the hot seat without solid evidence.

As for Beaulieu; good possession guy, robust, has character. Bergevin would never trade such a player.....Right? RIGHT?

absolutely

This Beaulieu stuff is a load of crap, or at least it should be. Fowler? Meh. Shattenkirk, you better hope he signs and extension and why would he?
