Let bishop make a run for the cup. Hes been a stellar tendy and a loyal soldier. Split some time with vas to see if the kid can take the workload and either sign him and ship vas out for a backup and picks or let bishop walk. He deserves it.

I don't think the Stars will give up a major asset if Bishop won't resign.
If you can extend him I say the Stars send Jason D1ckins0n and Kari with the max retained.

Bishop was legitimately my best case scenario for the Flames, and it almost happened. As soon as I heard at the Draft that Calgary had permission to talk to Bishop, I thought it was as good as done. Then it turns out we got Elliott instead, and I was like "cheaper, good stats, and barely any acquisition cost. Alright, Elliott it is."
Still, crazy how close the Bishop deal came to actually happening. |

Here's the issue.
Yes... other teams know that TB needs to trade him or lose him for nothing. However, a team like Dallas is also well known for having a solid team everywhere but between the pipes.
To me that makes them level pegging. I think the Stars would have to give up a A prospect along with retaining the majority of a goalie salary going back to TB at least, in order to acquire a guy who has been as solid as Bishop the last 3 years. The biggest issue is TB would be forced to take on a goalie like Kari... that they likely don't really want anything to do with. |

Exactly.
They need to weight pros and cons. Keeping bish for another run with the best goalie tandem in the league. Or getting a player like Bjulus and the terrible contract of Kari (even with 50% retained) and go into the playoffs with a young good goalie and a backup thats the second coming of Lindbäck.
Seems like an easy choice. Unless Lindell is the prospect going back, i wouldnt even consider it. And makeing a trade with Dallas means they need to trade a goalie and no other team is exactly lineing up for them.

Likely wrote this article months ago and didn't post it then.
Would rather have 2 top goalies for next years playoffs since Bishop seems to get injured every year. Win the playoffs and lose Bishop for nothing is okay with me. |

Maybe Ottawa can acquire Connachers rights from TB... then trade him straight up... back to Tampa for Bishop? |
